That's not a historical map...
Glad to hear it. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
I mean in the sense of how Vikingr feels. Weighty combat and movement, focused design aesthetic of art assets, etc.
Nothing wrong with this decision at all. Is there going to be a story to the mod? Something real, or something like "Titanic: Adventure Out of Time"?
Please use the Vikingr mod for Warband as inspiration.
Only in the sense of calling a weapon "pike". But the Japanese did use spears that were as long as pikes, and used them in what effectively amounts to pikeblocks.
In the Sengoku period, Japanese warfare looked remarkably similar to Europe, fighting with pikeblocks, and sleeves of shot, initially with archers, then transitioning to firearms as they became more widespread.
Will this work with the 2013 Steam version of AoE2?
In the files you released, the one with the vanilla map behaviour still is missing the player icon on the map itself. Is there a way I could implement that on my own? I don't know anything about modding Far Cry 2.
Is there a way to combine this with the vanilla map version?
Closest is the shark hunter, or the whaler outfits. But I agree, I really like the Crewman's outfit at the start of the game. Hopefully someone can mod it so it's no longer temporary.

Two different time periods. Sekigahara was 1600, their other mod is set in 1635 after the Tokugawa already took over.
Han Xiongnu Wars isn't a rip off game. It's essentially a paid mod (because the old versions of it are free), licensed from TaleWorlds to use the engine.
Maybe look things up before you spout BS.
Sent you a PM on TaleWorlds.
Think you could make this new faction Chinese themed? That'd be the Song Dynasty essentially, and there's lots of good resources/armour for that dynasty from the Chinese M&B community.
To anyone who's reading this, I've figured out a fix. Send me a message and I'll send you the fixed BRF file.
That'd be awesome, though I didn't know it was possible to cheat classes onto generics.
Well, I was more interested in it for having access to the sprite that Brutakos uses rather than skills/abilities itself.
Question; are sorcerors available as a class now, or are they still enemy only? Would be nice to have access even to just one.
That should be the Two-handed spear thrust animation. One handed works fine.
With this, the spear thrust animation gets really messed up. Might want to look into that.
That would be great if you did. That way other folks could host their own servers for the mod.
Wasn't aware of that (haven't really played Napoleonic Wars for a long time. Used to be able to host games and play commander battles, but that was ages ago). Thanks for the info. Is there dedicated server files for the mod? I couldn't find any, and there's no servers up.
Are commander battles in? Whenever I host one, it says I've been kicked for cheating.
Will we get new updates on New Horizons Remastered on this page, or is there going to be a new Moddb page for it?
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I've noticed in your screenshots assets that have been ripped from Skyrim. I'd advise you right now, before you release your mod, to change all the assets to things you've either created yourself, or have permission to use as an open source project.
Other Elder Scrolls mods got taken down for having ripped assets from Skyrim. Bethesda does not tolerate using their models, and textures being used in other games as fan modifications, even if you're not selling anything.
To save yourself some headaches, it's probably a good idea to rework things.
The lighter coloured one is the better of the two.
I really like those NPC tiles. A welcome improvement.:)
According to Autodesk's licensing agreement, you cannot make any profit from student versions. So that would be an issue.
If you want to make paid mods? Fine. But make sure you're using commercial licenses for the software you're using (like 3dsmax or Photoshop). You know, the multiple thousands of dollars that you have to pay to use professional tools. If you're using a non-commercial license (i.e. a student license), you shouldn't be charging money for your mod. Because Bethesda and Valve and any other publisher has no legal obligation to help you should Autodesk or Adobe decide to sue you once they realize you're raking in profits without having a commercial license of their software, and they certainly will do that. But then, this means modders need to have invested a significant amount of money just to be able to monetize what they've made. Will we see that reflected in the price of the mod they've made?
If they've pirated that software... it's even more disgusting and despicable to place a mod behind a paywall, and will have hilarious situations if those same mod authors that pirated 3dsmax and Photoshop attempt to create DRM for their mod so that their mod can't be pirated.
This is why mods should never ever be placed behind a paywall. Too many legal issues involved. You can be sure that Autodesk and Adobe don't care that you're a poor modder who's just trying to make a little bit of money. You didn't buy their software, or you broke their licensing agreement. Can't do those sorts of things and get away with it.
