Maybe I am just panic-ing but there might be a reason for the lack of response:

The updates to the Source engine ( thats the engine that BLACKSECTOR Team were building on ) made another mod ( SMOD:T, and other mod's) to stop working,
so maybe the same happend here, and that the Team was/is trying to solve problem by (1 building on the new-er engine, Or
(2 they are building it on another engine.

Both of those could take alot of time, pretty much like starting all over again ... so it could be that They are busy ...

I really Really hope not.
If they need something the Comunity is always willing to help.

I put this Mod up there with Vhel, "It Is Beyond" anything I can expect from the gameing world these days, It has two of the Fun-da-mental's*.

*The Fun-da-mental's is something I am Make-ing like Law about game's and the like...I will keep you posted.

I still think that OMS is right : It is just a Game, If it takes up his time and it is not giveing him happyness then it is just as well he gave up.
