Thanks for stopping by and checking out my profile. My name is Jordan Heaton and I'm the creative director and founder of Skjöld Game Studio. We're an indie developer working on a game called Battle Siege Royale for PC and the Switch. I've been a member of IndieDB since 2008 and began learning game development at age 13 (Aug. 2001). Game development offers us an opportunity to create a world all of our own, where wrongs can be made right, the good guy always wins, and the tragedies of life are always reversible (Load Game!). With a really hard childhood, that freedom of creativity resonated with me as an outlet to overcome my circumstances. Feel free to drop me a PM and happy developing/gaming!

Renaissance Festival

The_Grey_Wizard Blog

For the past couple years my wife and I have gone to the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur Colorado to enjoy the festivities and be around other nerds like us. This year we got to take our young baby and we had a blast. Here are a few pictures from the event.

Merry Modder's Christmas

The_Grey_Wizard Blog

Like any good patron of the Lord's holiday would do, I have decided to release a nice little alpha present for all the good little modder boys and girls. Stros M'Kai in the Third Era complete and playable minus the "bad guy" story line and interiors for the city of Saintsport. For those of you that want to support the Empire and keep the peace in Hammerfell, you can play through a short story involving a Redguard voodoo witch and a Breton witch hunter. At some point I will create a plot divergent story line where you can choose to betray the witch hunter and join forces with the witch to eradicate the Empire from Hammerfell, but that is a ways down the road.

Brandi Carlie really rocks!

The_Grey_Wizard Blog

Yeah, maybe call me a softy, but I was listening to diverse music on the radio and this song really caught my attention.  I think the theam of the song is very important. It doesn't matter what you acomplish or what stories you have to tell if you can't share them with somebody. That's why it's not only important to find an inward creativity, but also to harness that power in an outward fasion as well. All in all, take a few hours on the weekend, get off your computer, stop modding, stop gaming, stop watching mods, stop looking at porn, and go meet somebody. Tell them what your about. Who knows? maybe you'll find somebody that wants to hear it!

If you want to buy Brandi Carlie's CD (the story), I got mine at Hastings, but you can also find it here
