Lead developer of the Half-Life mod Deflections.
Nah, just on ice for the moment ;)
Hey mate !
I do remember you were talking about making this mod, good to see you actually started a ModDB page. Voted, of course and good luck !
I can't wait for this mod.
If that is a WIP, I can't imagine how the final map will look like.
Awesome as always! Also, the thing about the reversing of the ship's engines is false information with many still believing it and you are true that she would have lost all maneuverability if they did so. Though some still argue that it would have been better if the ship hit the iceberg head on, but at those speeds, I doubt it would have made any difference.
Keep the awesome work coming mate. Now matter how long, it is always lovely to see an update from you.
So glad to see an update mate :) . That pic looks like right out of a movie.
Horray a GldSrc mod in the list! Congrats to HL:Echoes and to all other participants as well :). Keep it up, you awesome people of ModDB!
One of the best we have seen the latest years :) . Well done!
Top 100! Whoohoo!
Already voted! Good luck!
Voted mate! Good luck ;) .
I love the new style of the mod's page btw. I believe it would be better though if you add a picture of the dam without the text, since the mod's overview page cuts into it.
Ah I love Xen lvls. Good work mate!
Damn and I really wanted that cookie.. :)
Btw, your mod is featured in the main page, congrats!
I am not really a fan on Federal Escort font. I prefer the usual ones, like Arial. Also the official name is HL: Hard Duty right? Not only Hard Duty.
Also the area seems like the transit system sector of Black Mesa..
Can I have my cookie please ? :P
Looks a lot better!
And good to hear, can't wait to see what else you have in store for us ;) .
I love those cables :)
I love this map (and intro maps in general) , well done! I also like the textures and attention to detail, congrats.
As for some constructive criticism: Add a trashcan and some crates behind the green security box. Also, an a/c vent of some kind on top of it and a light above the door. As for the electric box on the other site, it would be nice to have a technician work on it (to illustrate the electricity and/or other problems the facility had this day).
Keep it up man! Can't wait to see more ;)
I love these kind of articles where someone can see how a map evolves from paper to map. I do something similar and it is always fun to see what changes and new ideas you will implement along the road, since creating something is not static, but a continuous evolution.
I also like the map and the design. And good job on those cliffs btw, I know how tricky it is to get them right. One thing though, what is the reference picture on the last pics? Is it the old version of your map?
Awesome work man, keep it up!
I love this area, very well made! The curvy columns, the pipes on the wall, the interesting ceiling.. And I really like the lighting. Some suggestions though: I would use a solid concrete texture for the walls and columns, the one with the yellow pipe looks a bit off (and in some places, misaligned). A crashed SUV would also look nice here, but I do not know what you have in store for us around that corner ;) .
Keep it up!
How did I never notice this mod before? Sweet work mate, tracking! Eagerly waiting for that media update :) .
Go to files or download it directly through Steam.
Thx mate much appreciate. Also, sorry for the late reply but you know how these things are :) .
Currently taking a break from Deflections. But the mod, as of now, is not dead :) . A bit thank you to all the loyal people still lurking around after 10 years!
Quite the change! Wish ya luck guys :)
I really miss total conversions as well... Though, nowadays, with all these free engines roaming around, most teams really think if they should put the energy to total converting a game or making a new game (and maybe profit) altogether.
I have noticed that everytime you give karma to a comment, the page automatically scrolls to the top, rather than staying where it is. Same with editing (editing and replying doesn't work at all it seems). Other than that I am still using the v.5 continuously for the past months without any real issues.
One of my two most anticipated HL1 mods released (this and RainFall)? Wow. I was away for far too long. I am not even sure if I am commenting on the right article, I had like a ton of updates from this mod! Congrats for releasing this masterpiece and congrats for your newborn son! I am extremely happy that he made it through without any problems or complications. And what a nice thing of you to try and help the wonderful people there at the hospital. Most people just say to the doctors a 'Thank you' and move on, without realizing what a miracle they just did.
I wish you and your family good health and I will play this bad boy as soon as I have the time. Congrats again and hopefully we will see something new and as exciting from you in the future ;)
Reminds me of the beloved Office Complex chapter in HL. Well done though if you are going to keep the main lights on, this whole area must be a lot brighter. A good idea would be to have them off and lit the whole place with some bright, red light(s), the lamp light's and the vending machine light's.
I know I am a bit too late, but always glad to see an update from you :D
Well, actually, I do like the lighting. After all, Black Mesa went through the Resonance Cascade and everything works on low power. What I would like to see is some more red lights and more destruction and/or some sand bags and dead soldiers.
