I'm and old(50) RTS nerd, i play or played pratically almost all in existance, include all the good ones, from when i was at seventeen.
I'm sorry to say that, but this mod is becoming a mess more the version goes on, too many added and unecessary feature, that also doesn't work well or make game less strategic and unbalanced on the whole.
I found dozens of bug or missing features, the last one is that items worn consume themselves while i let time pass to regain the ones repairing in the smity!!! how come game breaking issue be pass unnoticed?
Some suggestion: 1)the new population system is not good at all, the old one is on par with the RTS genre, more building=more pop but less defendible. Now the bases are the same small camps, no more city that you have to defend strategically or siege to weaken the enemies.
2)the items consuming and retinue missions system seems unecessary and is higly repetitive, i do not have any fun from them.
3)The homogenization of economy and unit class is simply wrong.
4)The resorce depletion and the now totally unbalanced A.I. difficulty make the game objectively umplayable, making a scaled very easy setting is not a "fix".

I have pleasure of finding people that try to make a work of love, but i don't have interest, nor enjoyed most of the content, WB needs mostly polish and balance, the grand strategy map conquest ala totalwar is a system that can be interesting, but in this state the mod is not fun. I will stop using this and recover the vanilla game. Really hope you can reshape this into a good thing.

On my 2021 gaming laptop, the engine try to run with no FramePerSecond limit, till overheating and make PC crash so as not to melt. Vsync activation or FPS setting are totally absent in the idiotic options of game.
Found solution, manually activating VSync, thanks to Pcgamingwiki.com ,lots more fix exist, like the reactivation of LAN and direct IP.

It is a know "little" bug that have easy solution, i found it in the quick guide inside the dowload, in the Q&A section. For fix that is needed to restart the game, if you are already in a game save it and reload after relaunch.

Is functional for retail version of game? If not can be loaded a version for that?

Yes. The "creator" GrOrc mean simply that all the MOD contents are not only integrated in the camp but also the A.I. script, strongholds mission included, are adapted and compatible in full. I'm only using it from like a year, but i have from start, stopping playing in hard difficulty campaign setting(wich was not so hard for veterans players) and restarting from the easy setting, for the first run, like when i used when learnign the base DoW, more than 15years ago...thats is how much campaign changed! ^_^
P.S. also this is the only MOD that i know that have campaign really compatible, and very well balanced(at least considering the gigantic new contents it have), as even the vanilla/basic game was not so much balanced, it also works like a patch!

Well, can at least someone, maybe the mod creator, upload a lvl40 profile files, that is needed for use the mod?

Like other have recently posted, it dont seems to work, load a black screen but return to desktop without any error, i can launch both offline and online with and wtihout other Mods, with or without HUB laucher. But can't launch this, nor the single nor the hosting/LAN.
EDIT--Well i have found that the mod load when in windowed format, i suppose is the same issue many have with this engine, on win10: my screen dont'have native 800x600res(and is laptop integrated), i guess is the same for the other(also found this possible workaround Youtube.com). The hub launcher, both for bf2142 and BF2, have similar issue, and editing manually the profiles/gloabl.con don't works "sometimes", but after many try(various resol. and hz frequency edit change coupled with desktop changes), magically i manage to "fix" the base BF2142 and the HUB launcher. Seem for me that is a win10 bug relative to modern hardware compatibility on old libraries software. Ultimately the game continue to crash with this, if some code veteran can sense a solution...it seems a chaos for me.

Hallo. I'm a new player, and i can't play online PVP, how can i have the lvl40 profile needed for the customizations part? i have tried playing online versus bot, i'm searching some unlocker like profile copy, but as i don't know well how all the software structure works. I played lots of BFBC2 and some BF3 in their years, but i'm not a modder. Thanks in advance for any hint and info.

Hello. I have a problem and a question, after the patch 2.9.8.1 finished it create a link with a wrong path, not the one of the game that i give, i tried to rewrite and fix it(i kept only "-modname Elite" on bottom of the game path) but then appear the send report error of relic program. I have the previous steam locked version of the game.
The question is: how to cancel the mod? i dont see anything, no mod folder appear.
I search here and on the forum some instruction, readme but dont find any, nor in the download. Thanks in advance.

Hallo. I cant make it work, he try to load 2 times a white and black screen but close immediately. I have check (almost) all the ini file configurations, i tried all compability settings, even the DPI scaling ones.
I use a laptop: Intel i5-9300H, win10 home, two different integrated GPU: Nvidia GTX1650 and Intel UHD 630(tried to launch with both of them). I have installed both all new and old DirectX, Framewok and Redist. There's a error log file? in what path? i dont find any problems and solutions FAQ.
Seems like a resolution issue but i see that config ini should be as automatic set to display.

Like i try to say(i'm not english native) i have understand the problem and fixed, but other, like the Guest Oct 14 2020 post in here can have a BIG problem that block the game, new or old install, till they do a manual rewrite of the config file. Consider i am on a Laptop, resolution: 16:9 up to 1920x1080, maybe its an issue related to integraded screen.

There is a problem: i have launched > search installation and install patch then the log say "Current Resolution: 1536 x 864
Spellforce 2 Dragon Storm Installation patched
Settings Updated with current Resolution" and it reset/rewrite a new config.xml with default option, making the game not loading anymore cause the different resolution that should have, so to have it working need to know about the config file under documents, and have to manually edit it.

Can be a problem of some different resolution or other options. Try cancel the "config.xml" under Documents\SpellForce2, or edit it with the right/new screen resolution, while opening with Wordpad. Edit. Yes i have noticed this exe make a default config file making virtually impossible to launch the game again even after a reinstall!

I have to ask if the A.I. can use this new factions? because seems not at all. All of 3 of them stand still, no moving of initial scout, no unit production. I suppose it should work in skirmish, since it is not mentioned in the description, maybe i mistaken the "install", but reading comment seems other are asking the same. Can someone confirm this?
Also i suggest the author/uploader to write the mod version number, in the update notes and/or at least in the folder.

Also in the main post page i read you say BF2 is dead..ahemm, dont you know that the outputs of modern BF is actually losing huge amounts of users, having reached the maximum with BF:BadCompany 2 (globally considered the last good effort of the series) meanwhile BF2 users is slowly increasing?
Cause even the remake of Electronic(F)arts : BF play4(? babysuck name?why?)free, is broken and not even equal to the original BF2, that is still considered the best of series.
Then is not a waste modding it even today.
