What is the problem presented at running the game?
Are you running the game with Wine? I can't say for sure it's going to work because i'm not aware of Unity 5 Windows compatibility in Wine. In Windows 10 must work for sure. It's tested on PCs under W10, W8.1 and W7. Be sure you've the latest graphics cards driver and you've the minimum system requirements.
Next update 0.9.6 will be a patch on Windows release. On the other hand, Linux release, it will be a fresh download of 0.9.6

In the first place, we observed you talked about the english texts in the game, and it's embarrassing how poor can be the english traduction. So, we apologize to all english community and we'll improve it for sure much more in the next releases. We are a Spanish development group (the most of us) and perfect and good translation can be sometimes a little bit harsh.
The control at the time is a pain in the ***, it could be a suffering experience sometimes but we're trying to take feedback from this aspect specially. We are starting everything from scratch. At the time, working on motion capture animations, new controls and combat system.
Graphical glitches it's inevitable at the time. Porting this project from Unity 4 to Unity 5 brought to all the team so many technical problems that we are still trying to solve and fix. We take note from your gameplay of course and localize them. (Example: ragdoll physics can be buggy or unstable sometimes).
Notes and story can be kind of confusing in the beta, but it's all related to character and give us clues about all the mood around us. It's not specially interesing but i'll be improved too.
Finally, we want to give you again thanks for your support and feedback because we're doing all of this from our love to Silent Hill. We're really die hard fans of the saga and we're hoping final release becomes a lot better than this. Like and following you on Youtube!

We will for sure release a playable demo/beta, but not sure when we will do it. At the moment we got something but it's better to release something solid and stable than a test build with tons of glitches.
Original plan was to launch a playable beta at December 2015 but porting to Unity 5 brought to the team more technical problems to polish.
It will be released for Linux, but not plans for the moment :)
Alchemilla mod was pretty good capturing the atmosphere of the town and it had a passionate development team behind.

It's not from the movie or the games. Tracks are composed by Chess Players, composer of the team.
We're considering this possible, but sorry for the moment. :(
We're taking inspiration from the first Silent Hill to recreate the ambience, the lore and the rest mainly, but we're too taking inspiration to make the gameplay and plot from other games like Demon's Souls/Dark Souls, Fatal Frame and Rule of Rose.
So it will blend classic elements from Silent Hill with the best of those games.

Don't believe this is using Unity. The quality is impressive at most. Great artistic direction, outstanding ilumination. It's turning very good. We're following this closely.

It will be a mixture of Third Person/First Person. Something like Silent Hill 4 The Room but in another mood.

Like we explained before, this game will be a new entry, and will not involve any previous character in the franchise except Alessa Gillespie because it's part of our character story.

We appreciate very much opinions and critics from fans, and i understand that every fan has an personal opinion of how Silent Hill mythology must be developed.
We're not trying to appeal to the movie or the old games. We're giving our vision of what we think Silent Hill is. And of course, like you said, every character who visit Silent Hill see the town at his own. So we're not trying to make this game full of fanservice starring monsters like Pyramid Head or old characters like Lisa Garland.
Every character in Silent Hill Collier is completely new.
The Mythology on the other hand. We don't try to say the origin of Silent Hill resides on a fire in a coal mine, it's simply part of the story of our character.
This game will not explain nothing about the mythology, the past, the town and everything that implies that magic involving it. Simply want to tell to the player about that mythology, not explain it.
I know nobody will be happy at all. But i really appreciate comments like this to work better on plot.

In answer to beta release, we can't say nothing for sure, but probably in September/October it could be finished an open beta. Also we announce that we're working too in a multiplayer experience, settled properly in Silent Hill terms.
