Hi SuperBoaGaming, currently you cannot remap controls. We moved away from the previous input manager as it has given us a lot of problems in the past (for example a lot of users could not remap controls in 0.0.3) and only supports 4 controllers.

The new input manager we have transitioned over to (and used in the builds we took to events) is called "InControl" and allows us to support 8 players. Custom input is a planned feature by its developer.

It is not ideal to play the game with multiple players on a single keyboard though (as you come up against an issue known as keyboard ghosting or key jamming), you can find out more on this website:
Microsoft.com

Simplest solution is to download 0.0.2 and use that to remap, it will carry over to the latest (where some people have issues remapping)

We have been suggesting that people who want to use PS3 controllers use this:
Betterds3.ciebiera.net

It should let you connect your controller successfully. Afterwards you will have to remap your buttons. You can do this by pressing the "Tab" key while the games running or clicking on the large yellow text in the main menu.

If you continue to have issues (such as not being able to remap the controls) try downloading 0.0.2 and using this version to map your controls as the updated controls will carry over to 0.0.3.

Im not entirely sure but it sounds like you have mapped the secondary input keys for player one thinking they are for the second player. These are for alternative input setups (so you could have a controller and keyboard mapped to the same player).

If this is the case scroll down the list on the input window, you will see that each input is prefixed with "P1", "P2", "P3", and "P4". Simply map player two's input (on the primary or secondary input) to whatever you want to use.

We've talked about it over the last few days and have officially set the launch date on Steam Early Access as 29th August. Check out our Steam Greenlight page for more information (see T.co).

As the game is in an early state and we have been to a lot of events, a lot of the code was in an ugly state. We have been spending a lot of time recently re-factoring and / or improving the games code (especially on the characters).

You can remap controls using the in-game input remapping window. You can access it by pressing the "Tab" key or clicking the large yellow text on the main menu.

If your having issues with remapping, try running the game as administrator. If this doesn't fix it the simplest alternative is to download 0.0.2 and use that version to remap your controls. Afterwards you will be able to play 0.0.3 with the updated controls.

Ah, sounds like your one of the unlucky few who's had input issues with version 0.0.3, simplest work around is to download 0.0.2 and use this version to remap the controls. Once you have done this you will be able use 0.0.3 with the remapped controls (from 0.0.2).

The game has not yet been released for Xbox (or any other console) as it is still very early in development, once the game is in a more finalised state we will look at console versions.

CPU currently only exists on the street and sandbox levels as "purple" or "pink" characters. You can't fight against AI on other levels for the time being until we can have a more intelligent CPU that can better fight and navigate in the environment.

We will be looking at a way to allow players to switch to lower spec shaders (similar to how "Kerbal Space Program" has the option to use an alternative shader for its terrain). This will be selectable from the options screen at a later date.

We have researched potential solutions for switching to older shader models (similar to the option for using an alternative terrain shader in "Kerbal Space Program"). We plan to make this a menu option in a later build.

It is difficult to identify potential causes without seeing the crash log for your system (for example it could be corrupt fonts or missing files etc.), if you can send us a copy of the log file for your system we can try to advise you (please email support@boneloafery.com).

On Windows the log file is named "output_log.txt" and should be at the root level of the "Gang Beasts_DATA" folder.

We suggest using "Better DS3" as it lets you use the "MotionJoy" drivers without requiring a constant online connection. After you have got your controller working on your system you can remap the controls in game (if required) by pressing the "TAB" key.

You can find "Better DS3" here:
Betterds3.ciebiera.net

Are you trying to run the game from the .zip file as this will not work. You will need to extract it first, to do this right click on the downloaded .zip file and select "Extract all" and follow the instructions.

Have you tried remapping the controls in the in game remapping window? You can access this with the TAB key.

Without knowing what platform your running on the only other advise i can give you is that if you have troubles mapping controls in the in game remapping window you may want to download 0.0.2 and use this version to remap your controls. You will then be able to successfully play 0.0.3 with the remapped controls (as they carry over).

This is odd, unless you are remapping the controls it shouldn't change. Could you try deleting the keybindings and trying again?

To do this, simply follow these instructions:

Window:
Pastebin.com

Mac:

On a pc you will need drivers such as "MotionJoy" or "Better DS3" id suggest using the "Better DS3" as it doesn't require a constant online connection.

You can get "Better DS3" from here: Betterds3.ciebiera.net

Currently there is no modding support for Gang Beasts though we do plan to plan to give players the ability to create some level of custom content in the future.

Which platform are you running the game on? Without knowing more its hard to help you.

Going off the information you have given, some users have reported a similar issue that was due to incompatibility with integrated graphics chips and shader model 3.

There are two workarounds. The first is to change your resolution and / or graphics settings for the game (a few users have reported one combination fixes the issue). The second is to use programs such as SwiftShader which emulate shader model 3.

You need to extract the game first, you can do this by right clicking the downloaded zip file and select "extract all". After you have done this you should be able to play the game by double clicking the extracted "Gang Beasts.exe" file.

You will need to install some drivers (such as this Betterds3.ciebiera.net) and then rebind the controls in game. To open the input remapping window simply press the "Tab" key in game.

The previous version of the input framework we are currently using was unresponsive with analogue triggers and buttons. The developers have significantly improved the responsiveness of these inputs since the 0.0.3 build was released (which will improve support for triggers in the subsequent Gang Beasts builds that use the same input framework).

There is currently no method for locking inputs to specific players with Unity's input system, you can avoid controller associations switching by connecting the controllers before running the game (and not disconnecting them during gameplay).

When we take the game to events we use multiple wired xbox 360 controllers without issue. Have you been able to use the controllers on other games that use the Unity Engine?

Additionally Unity can fail to correctly detect controllers if plugged in after its been launched so try unplugging and replugging the controllers and then starting the game.

If your still having issues the simplest solution is to download 0.0.2 and use that version to remap your controls. You should be able to play 0.0.3 with your rebound controls afterwards (as they carry over).
