Asalam o Alaykum! My name is Sohair. I'm an avid gamer, a computer science major and an aspiring game developer from Pakistan. I've been playing video games since I was 6 years old (1996) and it is a lifelong dream of mine to create not just "games" but complete experiences that are fun, entertaining, engaging and awe inspiring for those who play them! My skill set includes programming (C/C++, C#, Java, Unrealscript, Unityscript), digital image editing (Photoshop) and some level design (UnrealEd/UDK/UE4). I am always willing to learn new things and, currently, I'm learning to work with Unreal Engine 4. Apart from that, I like Anime, understanding and trying to reverse engineer computer tech, gathering knowledge and eating good food. Feel free to contact me here on IndieDB/ModDB or on my Gmail. Thanks for stopping by!
So I've started some work by myself on a game in Unreal Engine 4. The game involves navigating a dark maze-like cave system and escaping alive while avoiding the "Ghosts" that lurk in the dark. I know it sounds like a premise that's been done to death but one that, I believe, will help me get a good hands on experience in UE4.
The screens here show the area outside the cave at the very beginning. I'm using Epic's Art and Sound assets, some of which I've heavily modified, like the Rain and Clouds shown here which were initially a Waterfall and a Blizzard respectively. What I'm actually doing is the entire Level Design as well as the entire Scripting/Programming for the game.
The Player will have a Lantern to light the way and will be able to mark areas already visited. The Material for that mark is Emissive so that it glows and is visible, even in the dark.
I'll add an actual game here once I have something solid to show. Comments and suggestions are welcome. I could definitely use some of them.
Wow. good luck with that.
I have a question Will this game will be free?
P.S looks like an Adventure Horror game i really wanted to help you but i got no experince with UE.
Thanks! Yeah, it'll be free and downloadable here. Yup, I plan on it being Adventure-Horror.
