It depends a lot on the size and purpose of the model we are creating. We also don't create detailed concept art - we make some sketches instead as it allows to understand the form of the ship and how it might look in the game. In total, bigger ships can take about 2 weeks or so.

Sure it is free to play, but this is not an opened test - to participate in it, you should fill in an application, and then wait until we see it, look through it and send or do not send you a key.

This is normal for MMO games to giveaway keys for their Alpha/Beta tests. You can see lots of similar giveaways on different sites.

This key gives you an access to the pre-Alpha tests of this game only, it doesn't guarantee access to the future Steam Early Access.

At the moment we don't have any plans concerning mods and modders. It still can happen, but not in the nearest future.

Well, energy core, for example, takes a lot place in your engineering bay, so you can't put many other things there, it also has a high TP cost (identifies how much resource you need to spend to summon this ship into the battledield) and adds some extra mass to your ship making it less maneuverable.
There are other modules, which add armor, shields, shield regen, maneuverability and so on.
You can acquire new modules as a reward for leveling up, by spending in-game currency for booster packs and purchasing them from black markets :)

That's because humanity hasn't learned from all the mistakes it did in the past ;)

There is a variety - most Deprived ships are not so symmetrical.
But you should know, that since we are a small independent studio, symmetry helps us creating some good stuff without spending too much time for it :)
