I saw a request to add your Laison River map to HCTM 2.0. So I added it. I tried to PM you for permission to include your map but you didn’t reply back. Maybe you didn't see the PM I sent you so I’m posting it here. I went ahead and added the map because you already let me add some of your other work so I didn’t think you’d mine if I added this as well. But just to make sure everything is done properly, let me know if it's ok to include Laison River to the release of HCTM 2.0.
If it’s alright with you, I made a few changes. Here is a list of the new stuff.
1: There were some mitsubishi lancers with mg42’s mounted on them throughout the map. This has all been fixed.
2: The combatants in this battle are German infantry and Waffen SS units against the 4th Canadian and British armored divisions. The player will fight as part of the 4th Canadian Armored Division and a brand new 4th Canadian Armored Division skin was made just for this mission by War_Crimes.
3: Because Canadian voices are almost identical to American voices, the allies speaking voice has been changed to American. This also enabled me to add a whole lot more dialog that fit the battle a lot better. Now your squad leader gives commands throughout the entire battle. And I also made the soldiers mouths move when they talk.
4: The opening battle is a little tougher.
5: The explosion effects were already fantastic so to go along with that I added random weather, blood, and footstep effects as well as other various effects.
This map was really well made. The enemy placement was perfect. The enemy having good cover really makes it feel like combat. The friendly chain was great too. I felt like I was part of a whole unit instead of being a one man army. And the objectives were good too. Your map making is getting better and better. Well done. 10/10
Are you running any other mods along with the HCTM? If so, take them out of your main folder. Next, run your CoD2 game and go to...
Options/Game Options and click on HCTM Default Settings. That may help you out. Good luck.
I think I might have tried that already, but I'll do it again just to be sure.
It's very sensitive to input. I used Vegas Pro 11.0 to convert an .mp4 to .avi Then I used a couple of different converters to convert the .avi to .roq. And even though the .avi played just fine in Windows Media Player, when I converted it to .roq, I still couldn't get it to show up in game. I even resized it to 512 x 384 and it still didn't work. I wasted a whole day on this with no luck. :(
Thanks Martin. I've been trying to get this to work all day with no luck. I may just have to scrap this idea.
Does anyone here know how to convert .mp4 files to .roq. I'm trying to add some intro movies to some of the campaigns but the game will only play .roq files.
The campaigns are already in a timeline as long as you play from within the campaign itself. But if you wish to hop around from one country to another and play this in a global timeline, other than doing it manually, there's no way to do it.
Braeburn and the ammo banter guy were both wounded during the fight.
I was just talking about this with someone. The too many unique models error is one of the problems here. The HCTM pushes the game to its limits. There is a limit to the amount of models the game can handle. And most of the maps in the HCTM have reached that limit. So if even one more model is added to some of the maps, the game will crash. And even if it was only a matter of editing the skin to add Y strap belts or change swastika badges for all of the Germans, it would still be a huge amount of work for such a little improvement.
For example: In HCTM 1.0 there are 1,486 characters in the characters folder. Almost 400 of these characters are German. So if all I had to do is edit the skin, I would have to do this for around 800 skins because each of the German characters have a damaged and non damaged skin attached to it. That’s way too much work for such a minor improvement.
I will not replace the T-26 all together for the Polish missions because it looks almost identical to the 7TP. And because the 7TP was used during the invasion of Poland, I'll keep the T-26 as a place holder.
Considering the amount of work it would take to get a real 7TP operational in game, the T-26 will do just fine. It really is almost identical with the exception of a few minor details. So I'll keep everything the way it is for the most part.
However, Poland did used the R35 so I added it to the "Soviet invasion of Poland" mission. IMO that was the most logical mission for it to show up in. So instead of replacing the T-26/7TP with the R35, Poland will use both of these tanks together.
Yes. It will show up in the French campaign in HCTM 2.0. The Germans will also fight against the Renault r35 in some missions as well.
I haven't posted any pics in a while, but I couldn't resist posting some pics of the Renault r35 in action. It's still not finished but it looks great in game and it's just what the French campaign needed. A big thanks goes to MCh2207Cz and Marcomix for all the hard work they put into this.
Here are some pics of the Renault r35 in action...
1: I can't tell you why your game freezes. That's probably on your end. You may have to lower your settings so your game can run smoother.
2: The turret weapons are not misaligned. Look at how the Ai fire turret weapons. They don't use iron sights to aim. So it's the same for the player. When you are on turret MG's you will not be able to use iron sights on these weapons because you are firing from a fixed position. Think of it as firing from the hip. You will have to follow the tracers to the target.
No it's not out yet.
The soldiers pop up like that sometime when the CPU is overloaded.
When modding CoD2, the only keys that can be given new functions are the use key and the melee key. This is why the use key is being used so much. There is nothing that can be done about this.
To play this map, open the console and type...
In HCTM 2.0 there is an option to use the PTRS-41 with or without the scope. So if you don't want to see the scoped version of the PTRS-41 in game, you can simply turn it off in the options menu.
As for the maps... If you've got better maps I can use, I'd be glad to add them.
This should never happen. This is the first I've heard of this. If you read through the threads you will find that you are the only one this is happening too so this is probably on your end. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.
1: Make sure that you are not running any other mods along with the HCTM.
2: After you load CoD2, go to Game Options and click on...
(Hard Core Tactical Mod Default Settings).
3: If you still have this problem after taking steps 1 & 2, you may want to reinstall your CoD2 game. I hope this helps. Good luck.
1: No there will not be any new Polish tanks in HCTM 2.0.
2: The Polish weapons have been updated to better reflect the weapons used by the Polish army during WWII.
Go here to see how the tracers look in the HCTM 1.0...
@ Martin & Marcomix, Well done guys. This looks really good. I can't wait to add this baby to the French campaign in HCTM 2.0. Bravo!
1: I won't be adding any guerillas to the eastern front because the eastern front maps are already at full capacity. In other words, there's no more room in these maps for any additional characters. However, in HCTM 2.0 there will be french resistance fighters in some of the missions for the French campaign.
2: Tracers are already in HCTM 1.0. Maybe you have a setting set to low in your config.cfg file that may be keeping you from seeing the tracers.
To fine tune your game go to:
There are a lot of good tips at tweakguides.com that will help you maximize your config settings.
3: There is no real code for flamethrowers in CoD2. So the flamethrowers that are in HCTM 1.0 are probably as good as it's going to get for CoD2.
1: Make sure that you have no other mods installed.
2: Make sure that zzzz - HCTM_01.iwd through zzzz - HCTM_10.iwd is in your main folder.
3: After that, run your CoD2 game and go to...
Options/Gamed Options and click on (HCTM default settings).
Your HCTM game should work correctly after you do that. Good luck.
The BAR is currently the only weapon that has slow fire mode. If you wish to go from full auto to semi auto read below.
10: Since the “USE” key is being used for so many different things now I decided to go in a different direction concerning the semi auto and full auto modes. You must first insert the code below into your config.cfg file. Once this is done you will be able to assign any key you prefer to switch between semi auto and full auto modes.
Copy and paste this code into your config.cfg file…
seta JHfr "vstr JHfr01"
seta JHfr01 "vstr JHsa1; set JHfr vstr JHfr02"
seta JHfr02 "vstr JHnorm1; set JHfr vstr JHfr01"
seta JHnorm1 "bind ALT +attack;-attack"
seta JHsa1 "bind ALT vstr JHsa2"
seta JHsa2 "+attack; -attack"
bind W "vstr JHfr"
NOTE: The “W” key is the default semi auto/full auto toggle key. You can replace the “W” with any key you prefer to use as your semi auto/full auto toggle key.
NOTE: For your convenience, you can click on the HCTM Default Settings option in the game options menu and all of the settings mentioned above will be added to your game automatically.
This is from the manual...
9: To switch from full auto to slow auto mode, you must first have a weapon that has slow auto mode, then tap the “USE” key without running. You will hear a single click to indicate that you are in slow auto mode. To switch back to full auto mode, tap the “USE” key again without running. You will hear a quick double click to indicate that you are in full auto mode.
No. The only new tanks will be the British Matilda II and the French Renault R35.
Thanks for the heads up. The error has been fixed. The fixed version will be in HCTM 2.0.
