Hi everyone its been a while since an update on here. We are looking at releasing Aftermath on here over the next couple of weeks. As soon as we can get something confirmed with desura we will let you know the ETA

There are numerous rifles in the game, all have there good points and weak points. The rifle with red dot sight (plasma rifle assault Mk3) is your standard rifle, it has a light and has a max clip size of 79. The battle rifle is more powerful and has a clip size of 99 with a higher rate of fire. It does not have a tac light though. The Mk4 4 prototype which is unlocked (50 kills) is much more powerful than the mark 3 and has a quick rate of fire as well as a 99 round clip size. It also has a tac light. Laser weapons are not very powerful but they self charge (infinite ammo) The mini-gun is the gun to have as you see in this video. plasma Auto-shotgun is excellent at close range.

There will also be grenades, flamethrowers and multitude of other weapons, this is only in alpha :) Just wait to the beta :)

Yes there is a non VR mode, its still awesome and especially if you have a 3d monitor. But VR is truly something special with Ghostship Aftermath

Yes this is the sequel. This has a new storyline, and is a totally different game. It compliments the storyline of the original ghostship, and once you play this you will be dying to play CDF Ghostship which explains a lot which is missing form this :)

Yes it was a demo of an old alpha, the current one 0.45 will be updated here on desura in a few months. In the meantime the demo can be downloaded from the web site - www.cdfghostship.com

We are aiming for a 4 player co-op in Onslaught mode, and various multiplyaer styles in simulation mode such as verses, team death match capture the flag, and some unique Game types for CDF Ghostship. CDF ghostship multiplayer will be testing in summer 2014, releasing Halloween 2014.

We have not had much luck with oculus. Apart from the lack of promotion at their end (for a native rift game - made for the rift) We submitted 3 demos which took days only to find out weeks or months later they didn't like X or X about it. We can not spare any more time to put up another demo which is more than likely get refused, again. We was going to scrap the rift version all together and concentrate on the normal pc version (its hard to makle a game for a high def rift without being able to get any feedback on our games on the high def system which will be released in the consumer market. We have had a few pre-orders who pleaded with us to do a rift version. With the other VR and IOS vr solutions becoming available this year, it is also prudent to have our game set up in VR ready for all the devices it could support in the near future. We still put updates on the oculus forum from time to time but these do not get any attention.

Its not definite yet, Aftermath was created for the rift as its the the right sort of game. CDF ghostship plays well in the rift but its very hard, very realistic. Just one alien can take you out if you are not careful. Its easy enough with the shooting as you see in Aftermath with the new version, but in the storyline and game there are lots of them all around the ship, the colony and space station. We still have much work to do to get a full rift CDF ghostship up and running. With the lack of support and publicity we have received from going down the oculus route, it would be more credible to get the multiplayer CDF ghostship all up and running. We will have to see, October is a while away yet :)

Great, good timing, we might be raising the price to the same as cdf ghostship. We have ended up putting a lot more work into Aftermath and is now much more than we orginally planned. But as this is our first debut title we are putting everything into this, then them amother 6 months finishing of CDF ghostship :)

Its improved somewhat since this but this will give you an idea in the direction we are taking ghostship - Youtu.be Use your rift. Its a little jerky at first (our pc is on ist last legs - keeps overheating) but then it gets better :)

Yes, they are totally different. Ghostship aftermath is a free roaming survival horror and virtual reality experience. CDF Ghostship is first person shooter and mix of survival horror with multiple game modes. Both have different story-line and different player characters. Aftermath is more about exploration and CDF Ghostship is more about action and shooting.

The storyline has a big part, and the game play is free roaming (adventure style) rather than level based :)

The first beta will launch in summer 2014, and the final release is planned for halloween 2014 :)

The old alpha on desura (0.36) is very buggy and outdated. the new demo of alpha 0.43 will be here in time for xmas :)

The new alpha 0.43 will be released at Xmas and will have some graphics options, the full beta will have full graphics options. From alpha 0.4 there have been many optimizations and runs much better on lower end machines.

Multiplayer will be available in the full beta in summer.
