Hi PetrenkaPie!
I'm glad u asked. Well lets start with the mines. We use the latest build of Ancient Wars Graphical Engine (AWE in short). Where in the code, the original developers made the game work like this. Cutting wood has been transfered into an "AI" only thing where the workers gather "forest" resource instead of wood. We don't have the source code of the game so we cannot change this (The build has a lot of improvements so we traded that for wood collecting from trees). The sawmill is there as an experiment. I was working making a market and try to make the sawmill produce wood/gold on a button click, but sadly I haven't made it work yet. Every faction is indeed playable. TGH factions don't have many upgrades, but they have all the spells like in the original game (Weapon spells included). Our mod is completly different then the original saga. I'd personally say, playing company of heroes 2 gave us a lot of inspiration. We also focused on multiplayer and land battles, thats why the mod is fast-paced compared to the original. If u wish, we are hosting a play session in around 10 hours. So u could join us for some multiplayer games, if not thanks for the support anyway!

StarLord101 Well there were couple of ideas that we had but couldn't get to work. There was also I minor issue with the catapult dmg that we didn't set properly. Other then that tho I think we showed some great improvements that this game has never seen before. (Like all the upgrade spells being assigned to all units. The LVLd up barracks giving lvl 1 unit on spawn rather then lvl 0, etc.) The monester factions however will take a long time to finish. Turns out the animations are really hard to setup, as some animations aren't completely supported. If it wasn't for that, the monster faction would've been out months ago. On the side note tho. Multiplayer PVE and/or PVP is very nice to play now. It's very fluid and it even lets newer players be good at the game.

bjerpeke hmm that's a first. As far as we know, u cannot play alone u have to add AI player in order to play. Other then that, there shouldn't be any issues.

h2opuro We do indeed know of such a game, but we haven't found any files of the game. We looked everywhere but as I said, nothing. It was lookin like an interesting game, sad it never became a full fledged game.

Thank u very much for ur kind words. It would be a lie if I said that we aren't trying real hard to make the mod play/feel just right. Some ofc may not like our "fast paced" style of gameplay. But we do plan on making "Easy AI" have that old "Slow" type of gameplay, while "Hard AI" will still be super strong. Tho regarding the mod status. We have a lot of ideas, and even when we finalize them. We plan to continue working on the mod in some other way.

Jasmine1 Glad u like it! I can garantuee u that u'll love the new version when it comes out later in december if not in january. We have made a lot of changes compared to 1.1.3.

We talked about it a lot, but honestly making it as new factions would be too much work. Not to mention we would need to use building models, which would be taken from other factions. Retexturing can be done, sure. But there is still that "a whole faction built out of other faction assets" thing that we've already done with romans. We have a set goal for now, and u will be seing a new faction from something else after every faction is implemented completely. Still thanks for the idea, could be a great extra campaign mission if nothing else.

StarLord101 Don't worry, gates have been fixed in the latest version. Crusaders walls have even been adjusted so that they have an okey price. Before it use to be overpriced, now it feel just right. It also has gates. Also we'll start fixing the russian wall, so heads up for that. We do plan to implement walls the way that they were in the golden horde (town builds walls as well as units). We already made russians play like they originally were. The town aka mainhouse builds buildings around it.

Well we made sure the AI build their siege weapons, while we can't really choose what they will attacks focus. But as I said, we'll be testing ship battles today. And we'll inform u on what we plan to do with it next, as well as see what u think of our ideas.

honestly, you are one of the few people who understood the point in our engine change... But for the first sentence, We felt the same as well, until we saw the potential of the new type of gameplay the new engine was offering. As for the ships, we haven't touched the ships really... But since u have mentioned it, we'll try to look into it. We were mainly focusing on land battles and to improve it as much as possible. Our aim right now is getting romans into a playable state and then adding "thg" factions. Tho the moment when someone mentions part of the gameplay that they don't like, we usually take a lot into it asap.
Also if u happen to have some more suggestions, we recommend joining our discord server. There we ask for ideas and opinions before the official release. As well as share test builds. And the most important thing, we test almost everything via multiplayer. Which was one of the main reasons for engine change.

Glad u liked it! There is an endscreen issue with the new factions tho. So if u ever win or loose and u get a crash, know that it's just a file missing. Nothing else. Also we'll be doing multiplayer testing when the new update comes out, lemme know on discord if u wanna help us test multiplayer.

honestly I doubt u made as big of a mess as we did, with the whole "spartan-elite" bs. I recommend checking out our discord server. There u can find the latest build that is working on an updated engine of the game. The gameplay is different and we disabled tgh factions, untill we make them as unique and playable as they were in their original game.

U mean the other way around...
And now it's super different, there is a test build on our discord server. We will post it here when it's done. Also multiplayer is our main focus, so that means a lot of aspects of the game will be changed to make the multiplayer experience fun and competitive at the same time.

Sve je isto kako je i prije bilo. Posto je ovo Dev build, mozes sam iskljucit FOW. r_fog_of_war 0 otvori consolu, ukucaj ovo i iskljucit ces FOW. Consola ti je ispod Esc dugmeta. Iskreno druze, neam zivaca da nesto puno radim na ovome... plus sto sam ogranicen u ovoj igrici, jer dosta coda od igrice je u dllovima. Ako imas win10 i ne mozes pokrenut igricu. Onda ces morat poskidat sve update za windows, posto ja sam na win10 trenutno i radi bez problema.

Btw the resources were put to an insale limit due to the AI not being 100% compatible with mods.(Tbh I'm suprised it even works, I remember it took me a week to figure it out... then a month fixing the bugs in it. Not an easy process, trust.)

I can't garantee I will pick up the project again. Tbh I'd have to learn the scripts and everything all over again. And I use to open the editor with CTRL + E if I remember correctly. Try Different letters while holding ctrl and u will find it. @Torsion_qwert should know the answer regarding the Editor. Good luck.
