Finally got this game working.
It would give me a black screen everytime till I found the config.xml file in the installation folder and turned full screen mod off by setting it to "false"

Not sure what would cause the issue really.

Some quick suggestions for the game though.
Don't rely on phyiscs too much.
I find the car often going out of control randomly and landing to be rather troublesome.
Perhaps turning off physics for landing and things or perhaps give the player more air control using the boost in air, very Hydro Thunder Hurricane like.

Another problem is how bothersome the mecha form is.
It is basicly just a plane mode since the arms and legs aren't used at all. (say for ridding along walls or pushing off of obstacles)
Instant death in a racing game is really really bad idea, in flight its still natural to bump into things like you would in a car.
Not to mention that camera in that mode and no lfight controls (pull joystick down to move up etc) is awfully difficult to adjust to.

I understand its free and I thank you for that but I wanted to try and give some constructive crtisism.

I like the idea and I'd love to see it become a full game one day perhaps with more racing focus than combat. (really too many racing games with unecessary combat adding in and little focus on fun racing mechanics these days :/)

Best of luck and thanks for releasing a free version for us all to try.

Heya, just wanted to mention I sideloaded this to an Ouya and it works fine. Controls respond and everything.
Not pause but double tapping the menu button to open the Ouya menu will pause it, turn the music off and then force the "do you want to exit" prompt. So sorta pauses.
Other wise game runs fine and works fine on a TV screen (little overscan but thats normal)
You should consider porting an Ouya version perhaps.

ya, it would be a nice joke on it. Maybe a cheat code? Remeber those?
Hes an angel style character so a Grphon or heck a Pegasus would work here. Fire breathing Pegasus..... ya, why the heck not! xD Make it half dragon or something... yes do this! xD

Give me the option to change the main character into a dragon/gryphon/chimera or something silly like that and I'd be happy without mods xD .... the main charactor's face kinda creeps me out >.>;

Game works for me now too.

I have to agree with these suggestions after my first play through.
It is however much more managable with a gamepad, but keyboard and mouse should get some love when ya can.

I also agree the tutorials could be displayed on the side of the HUD.
Daisy could also use some dialog outside of hte tutorials to help remind the player what they are doing and add a little immersion. Just a small suggestion. Providing the messages are more dyanimic and less obtrusive ofcourse.

Anyone else having trouble running the game at all?
It sits in memory and does nothing until I end the process through the task manager.
I've tried a few things but no luck.
Most XNA games run fine so not sure what could be causing the snag.

I'm on Win7 64bit, Using an AMD cpu and ATI radeon video card.

Anyone run into this issue? Any known fixes?

I picked up this game when it was free but I have to say its certainly would be worth the cash.
I've paid for indie shmups with far less polish than this one sadly.

I wanna gripe about the d-pad implementation though. Works in the menus but not in the game.
The analog sticks on my 360 pad have deadzone issues so would love to turn those off.
Could always use a program like Glovepie or JoytoKey to reprogram digital only controls if I really want to though but still a minor annoyance.

The game's content is also pretty satisfactory though I'd love to see an expansion or "super" version in the future.
More levels, more challanges, more weapons, more background varations per level and some pre recorded higher quality music would be nice. Little more of everything.
Also maybe one of those fancy arcade intro cinematics for good measure?
Just some suggestions if an expansion can be done in the future.

Either way a new favorite indie shmup for me. Thanks for the free copy on release day btw.

A smoother and much less confusing Nebulus like game. I do approve :3 Too bad theres no water effects though, but hamsters and tower climbing works.

> What else you think it should record / what else you need it to record?
Since the steps are so audible why not record the amount of steps taken? Just for fun.

> Do you want damage to be randomized across all levels (like diablo) or only have a constant +damage on very deep levels.
Random sounds more challanging but I think I'd be fine either way.

It's funny I've been tracking this game awhile now and while going through my groupees collections I noticed I had a Dungeon Prospector key. Woo! Didn't realize I had one all this time.
I might get a copy for a friend though at its current sale price :3

I miss the old version map and its music. It was just silly and fun.
The update improves a lot though but ya, I miss that music.
Gamepad support works well though.

Darn it, lost my character after the update. Spent so much time redoing all the pixel art to fit too.
Oh well, start from the top again.
Warning to all, be sure to backup your save data.

BTW, where is the save data stored anyway?

Occulus VR support?
I assume this game was made for it but gotta confirm.
I've had fun with it so far.
Heck I'd be willing to pay for a more complete version with more hills and things, I've been enjoying this a good bit.
Controls need some work though.

And as Marksja7x says, the music is indeed awesome! :3

needs analog gamepad support, dual stick I guess.
hard to use just the keys.
Pretty nice looking though and kinda fun.

Thanks for putting this on IndieGameStand!
I've been holding off on the game but had to grab it.
Found the snapshot pack a bit silly but bought it anyway.

Really hope to see this turn into a good game and a nice game to mod.
Would really love to mod the main char into a custom creature one day perhaps. (add some vehicles or have said creature turn into one, silly crazy stuff xD)

Best of luck to ya, really like how its turning out so far and can't wait to see more,

Edit: oh and points for the Gamepad support, that lock on cam has a great action feeling to it :3

I like how the game is turning out so far.
Hope more sound effects ambience and things get added in soon.

Love the elevator transition nice to see games that stitch levels together well again.

Health system kind of puts me off, hope that gets tweaked some, maybe more complex and Doom like ya?

Steam keys take some time for them to acquire so wait a week or two for them after the Steam release if they said they'll hand some out. I'd love to know how they'll be distributed though but it all depends how you got it so just keep checking your original source of purchase for updates. I've actually seen them in Desura's serial key section too like how Postal 2 did. Also bundles will usually have them just pop up in the list without warning. If you bought it direct perhaps by email. Either way be patient and keep an eye on it is the best thing you can do.

For me I find it gets stuck at a black screen with a purple block in the middle and just hangs when running from Desura.
Running the game by itself (I like the lack of installer its portable! Thanks for that :3) I find it works but it hangs at a black screen for a minute or two.
Still need to try to see if thats the same case when running from Desura but I'll post here when I try it.

Found the game more enjoyable than I remember from the alpha/beta run. Good job.

Thanks for thinking of us Xperia Play users, button setup works xD
If you make an update, think about binding that start button too, its just handy, the corner onscreen button works well as is too.

Oh one more thing, I just realized that the Sqaure button works for attacking.
X and O work as enter and back keys but the Sqaure button and others use unique key codes. Kinda odd if that works without it being done on purpose but perhaps there are other devices with the same key codes? Just curious if that is by mistake or you had programed that in? Never seen the buttons work without being specially coded in first.

Well thankfully the Android OS doesn't block anyone from accessing files and things.
Just had to grab the save file and copy it over the PC version.
Thanks for making it easy enough to copy them over and tell which file is wich.
Lots of games have confusing save file conventions bleh.

Oh I forgot to mention something semi important about playing on Xperia Play.
If the screen is slid up to access the gamepad while the game runs it'll restart and the graphics become badly garbled. White screen at the menu even.
To avoid it its best to slide up the screen before running the game and properly save and quit before switching.
The game also stays in memory when it messes up (as its impossible to quit the game with a white menu screen) so using a task manager to close it and run the game again it'll work fine again.
Some android games that aren't "optimized" for the Xperia Play will close when sliding the screen up so its kinda common practice to avoid switching mid game anyway so its not a big problem.
It doesn't stop me much but its worth mentioning.

Nice update! My xbox 360 pad works great now amd I can walk left!
Been playing the Android version on my Xperia play and swapping the data back and fourth between that and the PC version while I work on finishing the game.
Wroks wonderfully on my phone with no fuss (not something I can say often about games on the Xperia Play lemme tell ya :P )

Was pleasently surprised by this game once I sat down with it.
I do suggest this game and theres plenty of content for the price too.
Not like many other games priced the same but have barely any content.

Music might get old after awhile though its used a lot, but its not bad and a tad catchy at times.

Awesome!
So far I'm just using Glovepie to reprogram the keyboard keys.
It handles Xinput so its safe.
Not the best idea for multiplayer though since the game will try to grab the controller for two at once... (I'll have to try that in story mode) but it solves the issue when playing long sessions in single player.
Also works around the D-pad issue since for some reason inputing the D-pad in the settings flips the up and down controls

A minor thing but my Xbox 360 wireless pad disconnected while playing and I lost all control.
Can't even exit properly with the keyboard and no idea when I last saved.

I'd like to suggest a control swapping function or at least the ESC key to always be functional.
Just kinda sucks to get stuck like that due to a controller disconnection.

Just thought I'd gripe about it before I Alt+F4 and lose my progress.

Still a great game though ofcourse. One of my favorites :P

An expansion with improvements could work here perhaps.
Game reminds me a lot of old action Sci Fi PC games after 3D graphics just started to improve.
A little rough around the edges but games back then were just like that. Heck I had to come to this page to check the release date.
The odd nostolgia is a good thing though it feels like a real PC game unlike the casual fied stuff today.
Small things I'd like to see improvements of (like johnpinky7 said for instance) but just like the old days a purchasable expansion could bring those changes and I'd say it would fit the game incredibly well.
Good job, really, wonderful work. Really wanna see more.
