did you do modeling before school or did you just jump right in?
I had a computer class in high school that explained the basic concepts of what 3D Modeling was, but that was about as much as I knew. Once I got to school I downloaded the programs and started teaching myself in my free time. Its really important to practice outside of school if you want to get ahead. Since I taught myself in my free time, once I had actual classes for it, I aced them without a problem.
