Try to install openexr package. I'll make sure to include that in the next build.
1.9 has been uploaded and should be available in a few days when desura approves it!
Finally for linux! Already got this from the humble bundle, but I like to get my favorite games on desura again :)
To everyone who had a crash after loading a race. Please try the 1.8 update.
This problem should be fixed in the latest update 1.8.

The same problem occurs on a laptop with Ubuntu 12.04 and Intel HD graphics.
Using padsp, it runs now, but there are errors on the console:

I have an Nvidia 560 Ti graphics card with latest drivers.
It doesn't start on arch linux 64 bit :(
ALSA lib dlmisc.c:236:(snd1_dlobj_cache_get) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so
AL lib: alsa_open_playback: Could not open playback device 'default': No such device or address

I can run other 32 bit games just fine, btw.
My libGL.so.1 is here:
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib32/libGL.so.1
/usr/lib64/libGL.so.1
Can you please add the linux versions of penumbra 2 & 3?
Here's a temporary solution:
- Right click on oil rush in your list of games and select Version -> Linux 32
- Wait for it to install
- Go to <desura folder>/common/oil-rush/bin, and create a symlink called OilRush_x64 pointing to OilRush_x86
and done.
Game does not start on linux: ./penumbra.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libfltk.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
this file should be provided by desura (actually it is provided for Amnesia, so it should be provided for penumbra too)
It looks to me you are only using cross platform libraries, so why no linux version? The game looks really cool :(
That's exciting :) I'm a bit annoyed by the DRM, but I might buy some of the other titles anyway.
Crashed on arch linux 64 bit with following message:
ALSA lib dlmisc.c:236:(snd1_dlobj_cache_get) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so
Got signal 11 at 0x7f60 from 0x7f60
Segmentation fault
Running with "padsp" fixed it (padsp ./trine-bin64)
After installing this on linux, it says that it can't find lwjgl - shouldn't desura handle this?
It looks like there is a mistake in the linux version start script (trine2.sh). I had to change this line:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib/lib32
to this:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib
then it worked.
waiting for linux version of black plague & requiem :(
You can lower the input sensitivity for all controls in the input options. But if you're already having trouble with the default, you're probably better off using a game controller/joystick.
Of course it is, you can set all resolutions and fullscreen in the options
Have you selected the correct axis type? (Press the ">" button for detailed control settings and set the type of axis, e.g. full axis, half axis, half axis inverted)
to clarify, i'm not talking about a 64 bit binary, just ship the compability libraries for 32 bit so it will run on a 64 bit machine.
why is there no 64 bit linux version? who is using a 32 bit pc nowadays?
tried to run it on my arch 64 nontheless and got: TheHiddenWorld: error while loading shared libraries: libsqlite3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I've tried the demo and the mouse was laggy as hell.. had a look at the config file ( .familyfarm/appconfig.cfg ) and fps_limit was set to 30. whats the reason for such a default setting?
game looks great though.
