Hello! It's been a while since I updated this blog, but I have indeed been working! I've finished the geometry/brushwork of my map Claris for Project Portara! Here are some screenies: Photobucket.com

Also, I made a new icon for iHalo:

And also a few textures for Claris:

[6/8/10] - Successfully constructed the main room of a new map codenamed CLARUM in Blender. Added entities such as glass and mirrors into it. Blender > Worldcraft.

[6/7/10] - Haven't really posted an update in weeks, so I'll just write to say that I've been playing around in Blender more. Tried to make an assault rifle, then lost patience for it. Finished half of it, then dropped it. I'm sure I could finish it if I had the patience or the proper computer/keyboard for it. I can only imagine how mapping will go.

I am also helping Annhilation make a song for Solitude. It sounds pretty good, but I think I can make it better. I've been noticing that that's what I'm best at doing: Not making things, but taking already made things and making them better.

My friend Josh Haingray helped me come up with a freaking ingenious design for a map tonight. There's a building in my town affectionately nicknamed "The Music Building" that would make a fantastic multiplayer map. I don't know what project I should make it for, though. I still haven't really bothered to make textures for N2.0, so it's not really finished. On the flip side, I've done the boatload of work for iHalo, and next to none for Solitude. It would be a good chance to test my new Blender skills in making this relatively simple map. I'll just keep the idea in my head for now, and see how things clear up in the oncoming weeks.

Have overall been very busy with school and work, too. No time to work in the Tech School due to exams and work due. Good news, however! They have looked at the amount of effort I've put into learning my trade, and they have put together a custom-made curriculum for me to learn to use 3DS Max, Mudbox and Zbrush effectively. That should help me get a jumpstart on my career.

Work should be picking up soon enough, though! In a week and a half, I'll finally be in my final year of high school, and I will be on summer vacation. Lots of time to work. Can't wait to finally be able to buckle down and get back to it again.
