To be clear, Raising the Bar Redux is developed by a new development team. As one of the original developers of this mod, we do support the continued development but are not making any of the design choices or working on the project as a whole.

RTB provided all of the content they had made to the community (check our news post for the link). We have worked with other teams as well on the mod and merged our content together in an attempt to make the development faster but it simply was not enough.

I think you have to understand that many people take very different stand points on each part of the beta meaning that getting a team together that all believe in the same ideas is very difficult. Not to mention we have lives as well and are doing all of this as volunteer work. No one is paying us and no one is helping us along. We just have to find time to work on it so that a bunch of random people on the internet can play it.

I'm not trying to be a **** but that's really what it comes down to. Trying to stay motivated when you have very little motivation to run on other than "loving the progress!" and then realizing you just finished 1 of 25 weapons and that one weapon took you 4 months from start to in-engine and animated.

So we tried merging teams which inevitably will never work and we tried to find the motivation until eventually it just died out. Sorry mate but before making hate speech like this, try to think of it from our standpoint and what we had to go through to make this mod.

I don't think that's a fair thing to say. First off, Black Mesa was a much larger team than the current 5 of us that were working on the mod. Secondly, irl stuff was insane with my personal life involving Grade 10 Piano (2 hours a day), Marching Band (8 hours a week), Hockey (4 hours a week), and school (all the rest of my time). I almost had no time for this mod and the only times were during the summer. Not to mention my other employer for freelance work at the moment.

AmbientNoise has also been extremely busy with 4th year university and can't spare any more time than I can to the mod. Our dream isn't dead. We're asking the community to continue the project and complete our unfinshed maps and use the assets we put all of our free time in to. You'd have to be in our shoes to understand that we don't have the time.

This has already been discussed. We still don't know whether or not a demo will be released but I can guarantee it won't be anytime soon.

No problem! I'm currently writing up a full texturing tutorial series including an explanation of PBR, Photoshop, and Quixel Suite. It should be helpful for getting started.

Haha. That wasn't ours but we're getting ready to start on our own. Stay tuned ^^

Yeah, it would be best to get an IPS screen like the one I have and calibrate it properly. That can get pretty expensive so I recommend just going cheap and grabbing a great monitor in terms of colour accuracy but ****** build quality. You get what you pay for. ^^

Amazon.com

Great monitor for this kind of stuff. Just be careful because it will break like nothing else. (One of my brother's screens shattered when it fell over)

Sorry about that. We're trying to remove the one in the tutorial section.

Both great programs. I personally prefer Quixel Suite since it has Photoshop integration. That means that you can edit all of the layers in photoshop for more control

I don't see why we would stop. Finals have been a b**** for us right now but we work with whatever free time we get.

Face editing in ZBrush will do the trick. You don't always need to completely re-do something. Ever seen the guy who trasnformed a piece of pizza into an attractive girl in PS? Editing is very powerful in ZBrush as well with the move tool.

Seems to just be the pose he's in. Some edits to the rig should fix that and maybe a quick edit in ZBrush.

Pretty good. Don't put the dirt on the edges but rather in the AO areas. If you're using Suite (which it looks like you are), try to keep the edge damages on the edges and dirt in the AO mask. Also, that blue on the top piece of his torso should be less blue tinted.

Just my thoughts ^^

At some point, we might include a demo but it probably won't be much. We want to keep the big reveal a big deal. We don't want to release our content and then slowly finish the rest of the story taking years to complete it. That kind of defeats the whole purpose ^^

Our musician is working on the soundtrack but I don't believe we have anything finished to show yet. Ill ask around and see if I can get anything for you but the chances are low.

Not trying to be rude, but seriously shut up. We haven't even released that much information on the actual story of the game and you're going and assuming tons of stuff from one word "leak-related." It's a leak-related mod because it's a re-make of the leak so to speak. The people who come to this will page will know, "oh it's a leak mod. Okay." So stop coming up with this random ******** that's not helping anyone. Sorry, but I had to be rude because it's getting out of hand.

In all seriousness, we've scraped everything from 2012-2014. So anything from 2015 and on will be used. The quality of the mod was very poor due to rushing and poor artwork.

Alright, I'll get to fixing that asap. I think I need to include more dirt and grime on it to reduce the gloss level. That would just make it better for everyone ^^
