hey awesome! thnx! i am working on a winter tile set for the old spice xna challenge.. and don't own a camera anymore.. these will come in handy!

Although I almost already finished with the tiles for that level =(.. would have been more handy like a week ago haha.. still will help! maybe i can replace some of the crappy ones i made.. you have inspired me to perhaps upload some texture reference pics... i got a crap load.. and a lot of free fonts too!

put the handle on the left side instead of the bottom so you hold onto it with your left hand while the right is on the trigger.. seems to make more sense for a grenade launcher to be like that anyway.. as far as imagining firing it..

I think visually for the suit you should try something different.. not really digging the suit.. but i might change my mind and it might be different when modeled.. i think it would be cool with a steam punk look and feel for the city and the suit.. but thats just me..

They cant sell out to valve anyway.. this mod has to stay free in order for them not to get into all sorts of legal trouble.. think about it!

can you really make a map large enough with half life 2 to make a racing game?

The concept.. behind this concept.. is a little bit like something in the game the darkness which came out for xbox 360 a while back.. its a cool idea..

why not just make it an expansion for left 4 dead..? I can't see the logic in this.... and yea they can charge us if it has a good amount of new content etc.. but not the price of a completely new game.. since it isnt! They must have been working on the new content for left 4 dead and realized oh wow.. we have made a lot of stuff... we cant just give it away for free... well uh.. let us make some very minor changes to the engine etc.. and I know! lets call it left 4 dead 2 and charge people 50 bucks! people will never even think that its total bull since they are stupid consumers who see fancy new additions to left 4 dead and will shell out the cash! we have them hooked!

Hell I would love to map for this mod.. i have been following since its beginnings and always wished i could be on the team.. only thing is i highly doubt i would map for this mod since i don't like gtkradiant.. and people will think i am weird for that.. but i like quark much better! too bad that mapping for doom 3 in quark kinda well......... sucks.. because its lacking certain things.. etc.. not only that but its a pain in the *** adding mods to quark. Oh well... hope you guys find some mappers!

is it just me or are his hands very strange looking.. very long fingers.. alien like. i know its a w.i.p.. and I am sure the developer has noticed but just in case... grant's hands just look strange to me at 12 seconds into the video but don't really seem to look like that in the rest of the video? maybe they do.. its hard to tell though.. yeah i am pretty sure they do.. is it a strange bug? or does the model actually have really long fingers like that?

everytime i try to launch the mod it crashes../. here is the error.... i can't figure it out when looking at your script files since i cant seem to find this piece of script anywhere..

Awesome game! The art style is just something really special as well as the game play. I have no problem with it being "short" since its quality definitely makes up for that. I played it through in one sitting haha quite glad that i did even though I will be exhausted at work tomorrow. I kinda felt like I was playing a 3d version of one of my high school sketchbooks.. of course its better than my art. but none the less.. Great art, gameplay, and story. Better yet I hope there is a sequel planned.

I just can't help but want to play it in an open environment more like an RPG.. i think people will hate me for that comment.. but.. eh! I'd like to be able to interact with such great looking characters etc.. and explore the environment more.. quests and so forth.. nothing wrong with that.. wanting to do those things..

am i retarded? i cant even get into the house i shoot the damn lights and nothing happens it says destroy them.. so i shoot them try to melee but melee doesnt work.. someone tell me how to even get into the house? past the force field?

just a little bug for ya to know.. at the end of part 1 after you are "TENDERIZED" with the flashing pictures my game froze standing outside that little room on the platform looking out towards that rock thing with the hole in it that you zoom into..before the pictures started.. hope thats clear enough to know where I am talking about the bug.. I couldn't look around or move or anything just stuck there looking down at the little platform looking off seeing how there was no where to walk after the pictures finished.. i reloaded and then i managed to see the end of part 1's story/

Really looking forward to the release! Looks great! I have been paying close attention to this mod since its birth here on moddb with great anticipation.

I hate to seem like I am criticizing but its more of confusion than criticism which I am sure I will quickly get over once I play but....

maybe this question has already been asked but why are the teams so small? I read and understand its the game play your going for I just can't understand why it has to be just two players on a team.. even three seems small but seems slightly more appropriate and like it would be a bit more fun. although I trust you made this decision for a reason I just can't help but feel its going to make the game play get old fast as well as making it kinda boring. Does it really help the game play with such few players dueling it out? I don't get it ... Yes its scary if you are the only survivor left and yes you can revive your other team member unlimited amounts and yes its easier to work in teams of two.. I just can't help but feel from first impressions that the game play will get very stagnate very quickly.. (like stagnate water.. haha..) I hope I am proven wrong and I am sure I will be once I play.. but just can't see the fun in such small teams.. and I am not close minded to "new" ideas.. I just guess I don't get it at least for now before I get a chance to play. I especially hate to think its because you didn't want to make more character models.. haha.

Jlim, how did you set the fog you the way you did in the demo level? i have a hard time getting my fog to look nearly as good as yours =)..

I started working on a horror/survival/mystery modification for Crysis. Thanks for the inspiration to actually attempt to make a mod for crysis! It's called Paradise.. well that is what I am calling it for now anyway.... but thinking maybe ill call it Dead Night or something else.. still trying to come up with a name. But I have started working on it though. Anyway ill be posting on moddb in the near future once I do some more work on it and make a website.

Here is a brief explanation of the story:

You are a fisherman who is lost at sea with one other survivor of a boat wreck. You and the other survivor managed to recover some supplies from the wreck but not much. After days of drifting out at sea on a life boat you see an island in the distance and eagerly swim to the shore. You and the other survivor walk into the woods of the seemingly uninhabited island and set a fire to camp out for the night. But in the middle of sleeping you awake to the sound of screaming. Something has happened to the other survivor of the wreck... In a panic you grab your flashlight, following his screams and blood trail deeper into the dark woods. The screaming stops and you continue following the blood trail until you come across your friends mangled lifeless body. Then you hear a loud howl from off in the distance. (*hint *hint) What in the hell happened to him and what in the hell could have done this to him?

While exploring the island and trying to survive you unravel the strange mystery of the island and its inhabitants...

(I hope you don't mind me posting this here.. not trying to take attention away from your mod.. Anyway I thought you might be interested as well as others.)

Enjoyed the level.. Very dark but that could be my monitors brightness although i had no issues with the brightness in the normal game in darker areas.. i really like the setting.. i had a hard time with such little ammo killing the crap out of the AI.. took so many shots.. so i found myself running away with no ammo about halfway through the rest of the level haha. look forward to seeing more.. it inspires me more to make my singleplayer mod for crysis if i can manage to find some help from people which is always tricky..
