Hello!
Thank you for your interest in the game! :)
There is a slider in main menu > options > game > where you can control the physic property of her breast bone and hip bone.

Hello wangqiyuan,

Thank you for trying out the demo and share your suggestions!

I've played Warframe (Saryn is my main :3) when it first came out and really like the sliding mechanic. I've already added sliding into my to-do list and it is a high-priority task - it is very likely to be in the final release of the game!

The demo will be updated regularly (ver. 1.0.0.5 as of 2021/02/20) before the official release came out, feel free to check the update patch and try out the latest version from time to time!

Thank you again for your input. Have a great weekend! =)

what you see in this image is just a tip of the iceberg, players need to lower the water level at least 6 times - each with 1200uu height - to reveal the true nature of the level.

Hello Nidal Nijm,

Thank you for your kind words!

It's good to see another UE developer around here! I've used to play around with Unrealscript in my leisure, I still remember how shocked I was when I heard Epic decided to abandon Unrealscript in UE4 years ago. :(

I noticed your game is coming out Aug 30 this year, I wish you all the best with your game development and have a successful release! ヽ( ・∀・)ノ

Hello ulrasor,

Thank you for your continuous support!

It's been a busy week for me. After my Steam page was made publicly available, showcasing my game on social media groups (Facebook / Reddit / Discord / Youtube) took almost half of my development time.

Sadly, the exposure rate and click-thru rate wasn't as high as I expected - it is a sign that there are still a lot of things I need to learn about promoting my game. Nevertheless, it is a good starting point and I'm just glad to see there are people out there who genuinely love my game and wanted to play it! =)

Thank you again for your kind words. Have a lovely weekend~ 。・∀・)ノ

Hello gorillaknuckles,

Thank you for your kind words. =)

Yes, I use ragdoll for my character and thank you for mentioning the issue because I didn't notice kawaii physics stop working after the physic simulation is enabled. XD

I don't know a total solution for this issue, the only two things I could come up with to remedy this issue is:

1. use physic blend weight to specify how much physic simulation with kawaii physic feature (not tested but should work in theory)

2. only enable physic simulation on bones that are children of the kawaii physic bones (not applicable to every situation)

For my project, since the protagonist only uses ragdoll physic when she dies - which took only 1 to 2 seconds before the screen turns white - players probably wouldn't notice the difference immediately.

Hello gorillaknuckles,

I apologize for the late reply.

I haven't found any tutorial videos or detail documentation for this plugin, the closest I found is the author's post on UE4 forum:

Forums.unrealengine.com

However, if you are using UE4.20~23 installing the plugin shouldn't be any more complicated than copy the plugin to the correct folder and enabled it in the project setting menu in the editor.

If you are looking to integrate the plugin via code (if your UE4 vesion is less than UE4.20 ), there is a github page:

Github.com

where the author uploads his source code for people to download and integrate it into their own project.

I hope this information could help you get started with kawaii physics!

Have a productive weekday! :)

Hi,

To be honest, I'm not a turn-based tactical gamer, however, the simulation of structural damage of the ship looks pretty neat and realistic!

May I ask what kind of software you use to create these animated images? These images definitely made the article a lot more fun to read and kept me interested in the subject until the end of the article.

Looking forward to your reply and have a nice day! =)

hi rileyauckram123,

Thank you for asking!

Currently, there is no demo released yet, however, providing a demo before the official release is something I am planning to do.

Since the game's release date is targeted in 2021, a demo version should be likely to release before the end of 2020.

Thank you for your interest in the game, feel free to follow and stay tuned for future updates! :3

Thank you for your continuous support! :)

Since the pacing of the game is quite fast, it's important to maintain a stable framerate throughout each level to achieve a smooth gameplay experience.

As I keep adding new levels, new props into the game, it's even more important to be vigilant of the game's overall performance.

Thank you for your comment, have a relaxing weekend! (づ′▽`)づ

Hey! Thanks for sharing this article on indieDB.

The functionality of the map editor looks pretty amazing in terms of ease of use and fast iteration.

One thing I'm curious about the editor, is how does it know what object to refer to when connecting a key to a door?

Since you mentioned in the article, when a key transfer its current state to a door, it only needs to know the address of the destination object - which seems to imply every address only associate with one object? If this is the case, I imagine there must be an object manager that can map the address to an object in the scene which has a one-to-one relationship to the key?

Could you confirm this is the case (and perhaps elaborate on that aspect of the map editor?)? If not, I'm curious to know how the map editor handle object referencing between keys and doors.

Thank you again for the wonderful article, your team is very lucky to have a strong programmer!

looking forward to your reply and have a nice day! :)

rit2040 - - 61 comments @ 《Drifting》 - Speedrun Gameplay

Hi AnUnconvenientStalke,

Thank you for pointing that out.

The floatiness you're seeing is most likely caused by an offset value I made to prevent the character collision capsule blocked by small bumps on walls.

Until I found a better solution to the problem, the offset is - unfortunately - essential for the wall-run system to work properly. That being said, I could try spawning some particles to give players the illusion that she is "grounded" on walls, and see if that helps remedy the floatiness.

Thank you for your suggestion and support for the game!

Have a great day! :D

Hello VGames,

Thank you for offering your thought on this subject. :)

I think as long as the suggestion is not conflicting with the core gameplay experience that I wanted to provide to the audience, I am willing to take my time to consider it and (after evaluating its priority) add it to my working list.

Since the core idea of 《Drifting》 is to allow players to traverse the world using grapple hook, dashing and wall-running, those gymnastic-like movements IMO are best showcased with a skin-tight outfit which portrays her fluid animations and physical beauty better than a thick or less-revealing outfit.

That being said, in order for gamers to experience the core gameplay in their own taste, adding additional sliders to allow players to adjust the physical property of her breast and hip bone to their liking can broaden the potential audiences of the game without sacrificing the core idea of the gameplay - a suggestion I think is worth considering and should be added into the development schedule.

As for additional (less revealing) outfit, aside from the aforementioned reason; my main concern is the time spent on rigging could've been spent on adding new features to the game which IMO is probably a better tradeoff given my limited game development skill.

I'm glad that your comment reminds me why I chose the protagonist overall style in the first place XD, I hope you and other people who are interested in the game can understand my thought process for making this decision. :)

Wish you have a nice day!
