This is concept art for Project Escape, which grew out of this earlier environment I initially did for another guy's game.
The story behind the picture is a comet hurling towards your home planet and you're one of the last ships trying to escape into the orbit before the blast wave destroys the last remains of civilization there.
Massively influenced by listening to Jukeen's free Solastalgia album.
