I'm a gamer and I intend to be a small time dev soon. A friend an I have begun some work on a small game. We have yet to come up with a team name, but we will in time I'm sure.

I enjoy IndieDB because I both enjoy seeing, as a gamer, what new things I'm going to get to play. From a dev aspect, I like to see what creative things people are up to. I become inspired to work on my own projects after seeing the cool things other people are doing with theirs.

IndieDB is a great site.

I'm sensing that we have a troll in the room. It's alright lol No need to defend against people who are only trying to stir up trouble.

I guess the big difference here is that; companies like Valve make good money. It can be argued otherwise, but in comparison to indie developers who are (most likely) newer to the industry, Valve is making good money. And they have many ways of doing so.

So for the fact alone that I want to support indie developers, I'm all for paying (even a decent amount) for a well-made game.

I would go 6-10, but I can see an indie developer setting a higher price.

If you're asking straight up, do I like free to play games (in general) yes, I like them, they can be nice. Although well-designed indie games I have no problem spending money on. If it's a good game, it deserves to make a little money
