Thanks. I pm'ed you
Ash Dawn has been on hold while we were busy with other smaller projects, but we plan to shift our focus back here this year. The smaller project are almost done and we honestly miss working on Ash Dawn.
Not dead! Progress has been a little slow lately but we hope to pick up the pace soon.
Hi, we are! I haven't been posting but we never stopped working. We're planning on getting a server in the next two months and get a playable version online. Sound is the last thing we're adding before calling it the first test version.
Unfortunately it's not available for download yet. We can only rent a server in August so we are expanding it until then.
We'll probably release sometime around the middle of next year. Although it's technically playable, just lacking content and visuals.
Thanks! We're planing on releasing our beta towards the end of this year so look forward to it.
Thanks! It's me, my husband the programmer and one modeller. Our little group is called Distant Melody.
We are planning on releasing the first playable version hopefully around the middle of next year.
The engine is custom built using open gl and java
HI, there should be a download link at the end of the article, otherwise you can find it on www.distantmelody.net by following the links. Let me know if you have any trouble.
Unfortunately this is common misinformation on the internet, this game is still technically Trademark infringement whether they make money off it or not... As a Pokemon fan it makes me sad but I would hate to see the developer spend so much time on a game only to be closed down by Nintendo once it gets bigger. I hear they can be quite ruthless.
Writing a solid game design is, of course, very important. But equally so is the flexibility of the team to change the concepts if they aren't working or aren't fun to play with. Ideas tend to sound better in our heads because it's almost impossible to think of the exact implementation or interaction between the elements. I guess a good design document is important but it shouldn't be too ridged.

I had no knowledge on making games or modelling... then I married a programmer. I got lured in by easy stuff like level design on a bubble shooter, and worked my way up to be able to make a model from scratch. Now I'm working on a mmo rpg: Legends of Strife.
