Never mind, the school of dark magic in the Vampire towns doesn't give the option to buy spells.

Does anyone know how to acquire new spells, I have enrolled in a school and I have 6 points in magic as well as my magic weapon symbol thingy equipped.

Make sure you followed the installation guide inside the documentation folder. Load up the game from the WSEloader, make sure you DELETE OR MOVE the HD Textures out of the mount and blade folder or the game will have its native looks(towns will look vanilla etc). Also if you are not using 1.7 version of mount and blade (if you have 1.7.4 like me) then replace your mb_warband.exe file with the one given to you also on the main mount and blade folder.
