The answer is simple, really. Would your gameplay experience benefit from more powerful hardware? If everything you play already runs smoothly, at native resolution and pleasing visual quality, the increased performance from more powerful hardware would go unused.
Also when you do upgrade, you might want to consider Ryzen. It's really good performance for your money.

On the subject of the new Nvidia cards, personally I'm amazed by how much people trust advertising to accurately reflect the final product. Don't get me wrong, I fully expect the RTX 30xx series to be very high performance hardware, but I'd much rather wait until actual production models are in users' hands to define what exactly the hardware can do.

There's no rule against political humor, but what your politics-related posts on this group got going on is more of a preachy political agenda than humor. Political humor can be good, but you gotta have more variety than "orange man bad" over and over. Repeating a same joke gets old fast.

Not to mention there's nothing to actually back "Trump bad" outside of him being rude and the deranged elements of the left making the most uncharitable interpretations possible.

That much is reasonable, actually. It's no mere rumor, the virus is way deadlier for older people. For example in Italy, the average age of the dead is (IIRC) 79.
Italy is also doing sort of the opposite as the PRC, counting anybody dead that had the coronavirus as dead from the coronavirus (even if something else was the actual cause of death).
Meanwhile in PRC hospitals are discharging critical coronavirus patients and instantly re-admitting them for something else. So when they die, the something else is noted as official cause of death. "Zero new cases", yeah sure.
As long as the elderly have some way to stay supplied with basic necessities, they should stay inside and avoid contact with people on the outside.

Because if the misdirection and fear mongering was simply ignored, videogames could be negatively affected, and I (among MANY others) ain't having that.
Fortunately the fear mongering in this case is so basic and obvious, a simple refutation suffices to point out the misdirection. For example: Look up the top 10 countries by videogame sales per capita. Then check how many of them have a wacko violence problem (hint: the US is the only country on that list with this problem).
There's certainly a problem, but it's certainly not videogames.
Just like that, fear mongering DESTROYED with facts and logic.
