I'm an Engineering student at Dundee University in the UK but I've been doing 3D modelling for many years now. My weapon of choice is Softimage|XSI (now Autodesk Softimage) but I've also used Maya PLE, GMax and Blender as well when necessary. At the moment I am working as the lead modeller on the Sonic mod for the CryEngine2. Feel free to check it out...

Nice work so far.

I just have one piece of advice for future work. When you model the buildings add a small bevel (or chamfer, whatever you want to call it) to the edges. It'll kill the razor sharp look which the edges have and help 'ground' the models in the scene.

Hi Bandu,

You mentioned that you needed a weapons advisor for LOST: The Doomed Prince. I have a good understanding of firearms in general and have experience in using several military rifles. Unfortunately, due to the amount of work I have to complete for university, I cannot currently offer more than a freelance contribution. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or suggestions you have.

My e-mail address is e.peterbus.unum@hotmail.com

Good luck with the mod.

Is it just me, or does the rifle look a bit too long? The soldier doesn't seem to be able to get his eye right up to the SUSAT (that's the scope thing).

It's difficult to see. There are many variants of the rifle. I'd guess it's a No. 4 SMLE though I don't know why it's got a scope on it. It was built as a battle rifle, not a sniper rifle.

Top notch work on the character's DPMs. Some of the best I've seen in any war game.

I'm building a model of the same vehicle for another project and one thing I learned was that it's really worth modelling some thickness into the rotors if you're planning to see it from an angle like this.

I thought the grills were done with alpha textures before I clicked on the thumbnail. That's got to be pushing the poly count through the roof.

It's nice to see the RAF given a mention.
