I tried this on ArchLinux x86_64.
It shows the loading screen and crashes right after.
Here's the output: Pastebin.com
I know it's a Beta, but there's a lot of things that prevent me from enjoying the Beta I've bought.
I'm using ArchLinux x86_64.
Here are the issues I've encountered:
* Game loading is slow. When I click on play on the menu, the program hangs up and give me no indication about if the game is loading or not.
* The game by it self IS slow. I tried turning of some of the very few options in the settings, but overall the game is very slow.
* Mouse sensitivity is way too high! Besides, you should let the user enter a numeric value for the sensitivity, this should make tweaking a LOT easier.
* NOT everyone uses QWERTY keyboards, I'm on AZERTY and I can't change the keys I want to use to play the game.
That's it for now. The game still looks very interesting.
I'm using ArchLinux x86_64 and the game doesn't work much.
It launches, display the Unity logo, then the logo of the game on top of a view of the dongeon.
I can't move, can't show a menu or anything.
Am I missing a dependency?
I'll consider buying a copy of this once they propose a GNU/Linux x86-64 binary for download.
The original game Cube 2:Sauerbraten can run on very low hardware without problem (you'll just have to deactivate some features, it won't be as good looking a theses screenshots).
Excellent video game, I just wish it was available for GNU/Linux.
You should definitely release the source code as free and open-source software.
Clint Basinger made the Duke voice over!
Hell yeah! I'm definitely saving a little money to buy a copy of this game as soon as possible!
For thoses who wonder why there's no 64bits binary for GNU/Linux, it's because PixelJam uses MDM Zinc to wrap the .swf into a binary.
MDM Zinc does not support creating 64-bit executable.
Of course I mean that their aspect ratio is wrong.
Bug Report: I tried the demo. When playing at 1680x1050, the paintings from the loading screen are stretched. It really looks ugly.
I'm not sure an online petition would change (have ever changed) anything.
Why in the world do I need to log in to play this video?
What if I just don't want to bind this game with my Google account or want to register on Carbon Game to play it?
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
And you know the end of this joke.
This logic sure doesn't help the other OS being getting popular.
Making OS-specific software retarded (I'm talking about XNA here, the developer of Miner Warfare doesn't seems to know how to use other libraries yet).
Why use Wine when you can ask for a native GNU/Linux version?
Looks very very interesting.
Is a GNU/Linux version of the game planned?
I'm waiting for a GNU/Linux binary to try this (x86_64 preferably)
Feels like I'm going to be flamed for saying that, but I don't remember being bored that much when playing a video game.
Aim, Shoot, Explosion, Kill, Cutscence, Aim, Shoot, Explosion, Kill, Cutscence, Aim, Shoot, Explosion, Kill, Cutscence...
That's quite ironic when you remember how the Unity team was considering the GNU/Linux scene not so long ago.
