For me, it depends on the balance of quality-to-content. I find myself more comforted with games that aren't feel mainly because it feels like I'm putting some sort of investment into it (if that makes sense :D).
As a developer myself, I would rather stray away from the free to play model, since I try to make sure there is enough of that quality-to-content in my games to where people wouldn't mind dishing out $5-20 dollars on it.
