SETTING

In an alternate 1920’s, New Amsterdam is in the place of New York. The Dutch held on to the city throughout the 1600s and the 1700s before it become a free and independent city-state of its own during a continent-wide revolution in the 1790’s. The Ideas of liberty, equality and brotherhood sparked by the french revolution quickly spread to the americas while the great powers of europe, distracted by the Napoleonic wars were unable to hold on to their rebellious colonies.

New Amsterdam and the people of the eastern seaboard have later formed the Atlantic Union, a military and economic alliance that has since preserved peace on the continent for over a century. Western North america remains largely inhabited by natives on the path of westernization, many of them migrated to East coast cities to start a new, modern life.
