Hi, I'm Phil - one of the brains behind The Lonely Bee. We are a group of like-minded developers who are gearing up for our first release - Eggs in Space! It's our first venture into the world of Apple Apps and we are loving every second of it. Aside from gaming while on the loo with my iPhone or dusting off the Megadrive for my annual Toejam and Earl session, I love music, motors and mutts. My new best friend is a crazy basset hound called George who is about the oddest creature you will ever see/hear/smell.

Yes, we had thought a little about colour blindness. Simply all the eggs with faces are to be tapped, all those without a face (with a bomb, poison or a swirl logo) are to be avoided. That's why we split it between character eggs and object eggs to avoid confusion. Let's just hope it works!

We're changing a few of the colours anyway - you can probably see in these shots that the pink and red are rather close to each other.

Thanks guys, all this game developing lark is not easy is it? We're suffering a minor delay so the game won't be ready for submission for another week or so, we'll be posting some more on the issues at the end of the week.

Some great looking games there. They all look fantastic, Mirage having the most intriguing premise. May the best game win!

Hi guys, Eggs in Space is all about zapping those darn eggs! They move towards you at differing speeds and you have to tap all the brightly coloured ones while avoiding tapping the red eggs. If you let the target eggs get past your ship you lose a life. You also get punished for hitting the red eggs, so you have to be careful which eggs you are zapping out there in space!

Think of the gameplay of Fruit Ninja, but instead of 2D targets going up and down the screen, the eggs are looming towards your ship from the background, moving at differing speeds and getting in the way of each other. It's tricky to pick out the right ones, it really does test the old reflexes!

Zapping the eggs in a certain order will unlock bonuses, you can see the order of the colours you need to hit at the top of the screen. Tapping the red eggs means you either lose a life or if you are lucky you will only be sent shaking and spinning through space. There are also boss eggs that require multiple taps to defeat, they all look wonderful such as our big bad boss gangster egg up there.

In terms of how the game progresses our initial idea was one continuous game, but now we are toying with breaking it up into waves of eggs. Most of the game is complete, we just need to make a few decisions on the flow of the gameplay and structuring the whole thing and we need to incorporate Open Feint in there too. We'll get some video up soon so you can see a little more.
