Thankyou for this!

Re-installed SoC to try this out, and two hours later was still playing - that 64 bit engine really makes a difference. Looks great and runs great!

Hugely appreciate the efforts of all involved.

I simply wanted to say a big THANKYOU to all involved with this brilliant mod - just WOW! Marveling at all the little touches throughout. Doesn't change the Quake 'vibe' at all in my opinion - but adds a truck load of stuff (that can't be an easy goal to achieve).

Plays great on my old core2duo rig with an AMDHD5850. (All I had to do was set lighting to "Normal").

Thanks again - cheers to all for the very obvious hard work.

Well - in reply to my own post I seemed to have fixed my problem - copied the latest RBDOOM3 into the doom3 directory and the wireframe glitch is gone.

I have minor glitch with the zombie soldiers (doesn't effect gameplay at all):

I have started mucking around with Doom3 BFG again and decided to try this mod on my old rig (core 2 duo with HD5850).

I switch off soft shadows and play without HDR and the whole thing runs very smooth - love the weapon differences, sound and shoulder flashlight, just brilliant !

Zombie soldiers still have a 'wireframe' weapon model in their hand after the weapon drops to the floor.

Just asking if anything obvious comes to mind as I am not to clued in about these things.

I did merge the ARL helmet mod with this mod - which seems to run flawlessly.

Just putting it out there in case there is an obvious fix (you never know!)

Again thanks for the mod - really is great.

Another HUGE thankyou owed to Sergeant Mark IV. I love the dual wielding, level enhancements, sound effects, (and sound volumes), the better framerates and all the other gazillion little details. This is a TON of fun. Much appreciated!

FANTASTIC!
Thankyou very much for this. Looks great. I like the mug shot position and the whole 'head tracking' effect. Thankyou also for the compatibility options - playing with BD black edition and this really adds to the fun.

Sadly does not work on the newer GZDoom 2.3.0 or 2.3.2 (using x64 version). Game will run but you only get the standard Hexen attack animations. Still works with GZDoom 2.1.1 though.

Just tried this new update using UDV compatibility, extra power-ups and smart scav add-on, using doom2. Every zombie I shoot drops a gigantic shotgun, (shotgun is not added to inventory). It's a large shotty sprite, bigger than the zombie :)
PS - Thanks for this addon by the way, I originally starting using it for the better rifle and shotgun sounds, but I also find most of the other changes also make it well worth it. THANKS!

EDIT: Went back to previous version and the problem is gone - just to see if I had missed something (which is still possible!).

I second that request :) This is brilliant add-on for Hexen and makes the base weapons much more interesting (and less tedious). Very interested to see what other ideas will be applied.......

I found GZDoom 2.1 pre-1778 to crash on Ultimate Doom using PB (Ep1 map1) as soon as I shot the first zombie. Going back to 2.1 pre-1666 and no problems at all. In-fact it was not just a crash but a hard lock-up!

Noticed there is a new dev build now being pre1842. Think I will stick with pre-1666 and wait for a few more builds before upgrading again.

Just tried the fix and... brilliant! I really like the static effect together with the new helmet, generates a whole new sense of tension and gives the old well played levels a new life. Once again many thanks.

Yes, I agree - I should have said the HUD elements display correctly - It's just the 16:9 visor overlay playing-up. Thanks for the reply, and thanks for FEARRIFIC and all your work.

Yeah - I guess HUD1 file is only needed for the new look visor but it only works if I set a 4.3 ratio in the GZDoom set-up. I can see 16.9 folders in the file. I have missed something simple here I think. Using GZDoom2.1 dev build pre1666.

Hello Vic7im

Do 16:9 users get the new Doom4 HUD? Read your read me file but cannot work out the HUD load order.

PB comes with a base file 'A', a PB add-in 'B' and two more 'C' files for the alternate visor graphics and doom-guy face.

Loading Base file A, PB add-in then HUD1 & 2 gets an error. Base 'A', PB add-in and HUD2 gets the standard Doom Visor. Just HUD1 & HUD2 gets a zoomed in visor.

LOL - its late here down-under and this old gamer cannot crack the code. Whats the load order to get this new visor of yours working?

Love this add-on and really want to play with the new helmet. Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have sprint on by default. I move back on the small ledge as far as I can and try to jump at the last moment but doomguy always just drops too early.

I have actually started again on a lower difficulty level and have just found the secret levels. Don't know, but I have made some other jumps I could not on the higher difficulty. Probably just me... Need to get some skills :)

Jumping - how?
Yes I have bound a mouse button to jump but how do you extend the jump?

Obviously a run up makes you go further but how are the jumps on map 25 House of Hell Nobels possible? I must have tried 50 times by now lol. Can do the first three with a run-up but once you stop for the fourth I can never get the momentum to make the distance.

Just watched a YouTube play-through and the player effortlessly sailed the gap no problems no run up. Is there a hidden technique I have missed? I have killed a million demons but hell wins due to a jump puzzle :)

Is jumping effected by difficulty level? I am playing on 'Brutal' difficulty.

Would really like to move on to the next map as I am really enjoying the whole thing, except the bloody jumping puzzles ;)

BD and the new map packs are pure genius. Thankyou Sgt Mark and all involved. Have not completed the starter pack yet but can feel the love put into every inch of it. Just blew-up my first tank!

Here's something for everyone's UI file (useless information): I am also using BDv20b to play Ultimate Doom Ep4, (never played Ep4 before, please don't laugh), and at first it seemed the plasma rifle does not blow-up barrels. I have found you have to aim the plasma shot right at the base of the barrel or the shot travels through with no effect. Not really a problem though.

I still can't believe how much work has gone into BD! Once again a big thankyou.

Thanks cotton, this is great HUD that gives all the info but does not get in the way. Looks really good as well. Using it with BDv20b on Ultimate Doom Ep4 and works a treat :)

Thankyou so much for the link - Just tried it out and agree the new look and mugshot are fantastic. I loaded the PB supplied patch 'B' file after this, and the weapon list appears to work in all three modes.

Will try Hell revealed again later.

Alright - Started playing Doom2 with PB on Traditional mode. I have picked up the rocket launcher but cannot select it to use (launcher is part of the traditional weapon set?)

What am I missing? Is there something in the options menu? Apologies if I have missed reading something or skipped some important info. Can someone else confirm or enlighten me?

It's about time I posted a HUGE thankyou for this - brilliant fun. Never would have imagined you could get so much out of the old doom. I have so many games on steam but keep playing this.....

Question concerning 'Traditional mode' - Love it, but can you use the double barrel shotty? I am playing 'Hell Revealed 2' and picked up the DB several times but cannot select it. Intentional? Or is it just the traditional Doom weapon set (great alternative weapon sprites by the way).

Had a Revenant pick-up a zombie while playing the other day. After bashing said zombie on the ground several times it then hurled the body at me - brilliant. Thanks for all the clever stuff and thanks of course also to SgtMark.

PS I read a previous post concerning the 'spin-up' time of the minigun. I think that's great as it works both ways - the chaingun guys have to 'spin-up' as well - gives us older gamers time to evade :)

I constantly switch between BDR & PB because they both offer a great deal of fun and you can feel the love and dedication in both of them -both 'just work' in my opinion, as I am pretty sure many would agree. Best of both worlds is brilliant, (I am looking forward to it), but I think BDR will always have a spot on my HDD.

An add-on for PB with your sounds from BDR? Sounds like you are on to another winner.
