Currently attending platt college, been using unity 3d engine for quite some time so i been working on my own personal project to build up a portfolio from it.
multiplayer yes which is what i'm currently working on. survival depends i'm thinking different modes for now. since it's just me I can only work small at first such as short term goals then move on from there.
Thanks i'm still trying, i'm also planning to use subtances and see if i can make effects at runtime.
But yes I do and I am open for others to try out the project since in the end it's about having fun not really a personal selfishness
Currently I haven't yet made a build yet since the networking was unstable and somewhat not enjoyable in the beggining. I was using unity networking until i decided to go ahead and upgrade to unity 5 in which now i'm using a third party server for the networking called Photon which is a lot more stable.
At the same time the drawback is that the third party server i can only have up to 20 users on the gameoverall so yeah if I relased a build i would have to wait for people to stop playing it so i could progress my code unless i find a way of the server letting me continue even do there are people trying it out.
thanks. and no i didn't took it in an offensive manner whatsoever in the end it's always hard to make things look different from other projects so there will always be some form of familiarity out there
the weapon you see is the same one i made in my images earlier i called it Tos_P25 it's just a random made up name. although yeah the 1911 has a whole different shape do.
Thanks for the comment. it will be a bit until i can get all the parts of the level together.
i model it with maya, the rendering it's from a texturing program which uses the marmoset rendering engine which is similar to unity game engine in some ways mainly just the shaders i'm using in unity
I will do say one of the gamemodes i'm planning to try out might be a bit risky since it's not so common to see even do it's a combination of older elements so in my case as a indie person i'll just end up making a build for people to try out and hope that people do actually comment at all on their findings
thanks, in reality i wasn't gone more like just been through a rough time in both personal and educational.
other than that I did had a lack of inspiration at one point
i would but making a huge enviroment would take time. so defenetly i'm planning the enviroment being more smaller for now
Yeah initially had some placeholder animations on the character itself the rest i animated them, just rigged my character so now it's planning how to go about making motions in which i could reuse to try to be more efficient but at the same time make a lot of motions that would be variated. other than that the gameplay is the other thought in mind
thanks, yeah it's been a bit since i posted something. now that i'm somewhat back on track started to get a good direction of some short term goals for it
yeah thanks, i'm getting there just did one color scheme to start out and now i'm pretty much getting the hands rigged first to start reanimating the weapons and finally further my gameplay
i'm still unsure about design although technically this is the same thing as the first picture in a way i wanted something with more hard edge type surfaces so it seems pretty though trying to use zbrush to get it how i want it at the same time doing things on the fly like coming up with shapes.
i did mention on my description at the time the zombies where just a placeholder while i was still trying to define into what direction i might go into, also i rushed on the creature to have animation being the main focus for practice since ideally this project serves me as my learning tool besides going through trials and errors building it as i go.
the cross hair are just there because i was trying to take the picture so yeah i purposely turned on some variables just so i could take the image
don't really have an answer yet since the only update would be optimizations on it, i normally try to at least bring in some assets to the mix besides being slow due to school and still needing to work more on the block out
well the ones on the build are the ones i have the other weapons like the tec9 i have to redo the animations and the revolver i need to take time to animate it too. normally i do things on passes
yeah lightning seems to be a technical issue withing the engine, still trying to figure that one out.
i did forgot to mention about the win i'm still deciding whether there would be like a boss later on or not. for now i still just have it to where the waves just keep going
yeah those would be simple mechanics to add on, typical in most games yet at the same time for some stuff im kind of thinking about it being more natural and yes i made the amunition to be scarce or less for now so there is a challenge but it's probably overboard or not for some and i haven't yet thought about such things as balancing.
at the same time the creatures don't yet have any behaviors they are only just going straight at you to add some small replayability.
i still got ways on it
what do you mean by view finder by the way?
yeah i'm still a long way into adding the concepts that could be a bit different, at the same time in some areas i do want to have some familiarity for example the controls i'm still trying to make it smoother and to feel like other fps games so when playing it feels like home whie the experience and content could have small similartities and it's own originality or different experience.
would of been more nicer if you where more specific, anyhow the glitches that are easy to see of course those are the one i'm seeing to so i'm not blind.
this week so far i'm concentrating on polishing those bugs before piling begins while at the same time slowly work out other areas such as the enviroment and of the sort.
Some of the ovious bugs i already see on my own by default since i'm still working through trying to get the gameplay forward.
Currently i do not yet have a website. on my own i been using trello for writting down the bugs and issues i have on my project.
On the other hands at one point i was expecting users to write down the issues on the comments section for the downloads just that no one ever seems to take time for it.
still working on those steps currently
Thanks a lot, glad you like it. yeah i try to keep it at minimal bug amount and at the same time manage the progression time more efficiently for example if i see an issue that would take me lots of days i fix i normally tend to leave it alone for a bit so i can concentrate on the easier stuff and possible things.
then after it when i can take the time to tackle it.
i just researched about a presskit, i see it's something i could think about on the future but right now it's probably to soon for something like that since this is barely a protoype.
right now this is just an initial concept that i'm first building upon for my personal works then as time goes forward and progresses on i can reach to a prototype and slowly get it to a more serious stage.
I do see that due to the lack of content people seem to assume that this project would be about which seems logical since i barely have much in it.
thanks, and what do you mean about presskit? i don't think i have one
