Hey there, sorry to hear you're having problems. To help us sort it out, could you tell me your system specs?
We used our own in-house engine for the game, and decided to sacrifice a few things like detailed shadows etc for improved performance and more polished gameplay.
Full version is out for both Windows and Mac! Contains a lot of fixes and gameplay balances for the beta.
Co-op and multiplayer deathmatch are two modes we'd like to incorporate in the future. Stay tuned!
Beta is open, and will be available later today.
For controller support, so far it's only mouse/keyboard and the xbox controller.
We really want our beta to have polish to it, so we've delayed it until Friday. We are really glad so many people are eager to test though!

Current I am writing, designing, and producing for Nyx Studios. Nyx is a game development team based in Australia.
