..so I thought I should start with the tools I'm most comfortable with, which are html5 and javascript, being a web developer.

I'm taking this opportunity to learn some new stuff while coding a prototype of a game I have in mind, namely backbone.js, node.js and some sort of canvas library.

It may not be the easiest platform to start with (I know about the great tools out there like Unity3D or others), but it's getting better and better for gaming and any experience I can accumulate right now may be of value some time in the future.

I hope to have a working prototype in a few weeks (I'm doing this in my spare spare time), wish me luck =)
