Hi, I should probably address the fact there has been little to no activity or updates from myself and the team throughout most of 2018. This has mainly been due to the fact that I have been extremely busy both in real life and with other projects, specifically where I have become the lead composer for the Beyond Skyrim: Black Marsh team, so this has eaten up a lot of my time. Also, I needed a break from Battlefield 2 as I found I was getting burnt out.

However, this extended break has reinvigorated my interest in Bf2 modding once again, so Stormaktstiden is back! Here's an image of the Swedish trench knife finally in-game thanks to animations made by TUERIX towards the start of the year. I thank you all for sticking with us through our "hiatus" and your continued support and interest, I have some new exciting updates coming soon so stay tuned!

Hopefully we will include the Austrian Empire, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Denmark, North German Confederation, Ottoman Empire and Sardinia as playable factions, although these aren't priority for now

Uh sort of, although they are going to be very rudimentary, and the name helicopter hasn't been coined in this universe, rather 'Rotorcraft'. They will only be featured in the Swedish Empire faction as in this universe the Swedes, with their advanced engineering, were the first to develop them

Well it's sort of a mashup of different eras from early 1900s to Cold War era technology. Probably the most pre-WW1 esque weapon will be the Russian sniper rifle which has a lever-action system. Although most weapons and vehicles will resemble stuff from later on, especially with the Swedish faction who are to be the somewhat more modern and sleek technologically advanced faction

Just wait until you see the Russians, I envisage them being a favourite of many. Let's just say with some of the designs I have in mind for them, expect something a fair bit more off-the-wall dieselpunk than the fairly conventional Swedes

What was the reason it was removed anyway?

I considered it as HOI4 is very good for alt history scenarios, but I don't actually own it myself, the only one I've ever owned was HOI3. For now we will stick to Bf2, but perhaps eventually we will branch out in to different areas, perhaps even a full standalone game one day if it ever gets that far, but that's a long shot. Several HOI4 alt histories such a Kaiserreich or Emperor of the World have definetly been an influence

Nice to see another alternate history setting prop in the Bf2 community, glad to see I'm not the only one with such an idea! An interesting concept, I find the Cold War a very interesting period of history, keep it up!

As the guns are all fictional creations of the team's, the Russians will get the "M1978 Avtomat Maksimova" as their main assault rifle. It's essentially a dieselpunk mashup of real-world AK series weapons

All good suggestions, but sorry the real-world Swedish air craft don't exist in this alternate universe. The main fighter for the Swedish faction I've designed the concept for is a rather similar design to that of the prototype WW2 Ho 229

Develop013 is definitely very good at what he does! And I couldn't agree more, alternate histories are such an interesting concept, I too wish more made mods and games based in them. To be fair it has taken a lot of research to actually come up with an entire alternate Earth starting at 1709 and going all the way to 2021, everything has to be consistent and link together somehow. Perhaps such time consuming stuff is the reason we are lacking, which is a fair enough reason. As someone who studies music at university instead of a really difficult academic subject and currently is unemployed, I have way too much free time than I probably should have to write all this stuff.

This and the Pistol m/88 are perhaps the most conventional weapons in terms of layout/design, expect to see some even more dieselpunk esque weapons including rail guns in the future!

Thanks man, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Radiohead and my own ****** experiences with relationships/girls were the two biggest influences on this song. I love how the beat is so care free and chill, yet the lyrics are really deep and meaningful. I'm usually pretty terrible at writing lyrics but I like to think I did a good job here, even though they aren't in the song yet, they give a good idea. When we start to get out some finished tunes later in the year, I'll be sure to share them with you
