Hola, I am Neuntoter, main programmer for Enguised Studios. Besides writing game engines and special features, I love to play games and watch movies. Most of my influences come from games like Contra, DooM I,II, and 3, Icewind Dale, Final Fantasy (first NES version). Currently my partner Nonulok and I have been hard at work to bring Tik Tok Tank to life for the masses to enjoy. I also have a small side project in the works. Hmmm, what will that one be like....

Yes we are. On the Towns forums we have a thread updating the status for that mod. It is a slow process since we are doing a bunch of new graphical assets to make the mod DooM themed. We already have some really cool things working and will have a demo of some of the new techs we have for that mod.

This does require that XNA 4.0 and .NET 4.0 are installed to run. Issues with it not running in XP have been known. We do not have a solution for this. It currently does not have issues running in Vista, 7 or 8.

I liked the graphical presentation of it, the controls were easy to use. The mechanics of it are very simple and yet challenging enough. The only downside was that it only had 1 skirmish map. Which understanding they had a very short deadline you would expect such.

But now since the dead line has been met, could this become a bigger project?? Would love to see some more levels or even a campaign.

Either way, very good work and hope to see more from you guys.

I saw this and wanted to give it a shot. Over all this is a great game with lots of possibilities. I love how you progress through at a good pace and that it all flows very naturally, no grinding needed. Improved weapons are found and awesome weapons are rewarded after defeating bosses.

Speaking of bosses, they are very fun to fight. They do have patterns and they still provide challenge since you progress in a way that everything kinda stays at your level. (sort of)...

The graphical presentation reminds me of Trine, in that it is very fairy tale ish and colorful and it goes along with a fun little fairy tale like story. Controls were pretty much good.

I would only ask for more levels and some more sweet bosses. And if that never happens, I would still like to say thank you for bring this nice little gem to life and to keep up the good work.

The art style looks amazing, the interface is very well done. the animations from what you show are super smooth and very impressive. This looks very much like its a game from the heart and I am sure that it will show when we finally get to play it.

Can't wait..... tracking this one...

Watching the video and playing the tech demo I was amazed by what I saw. I all honesty, I really hope you guys meet your Kickstarter goal because this game needs to happen. My Question is. If you guys do not make it, will you still dev the game and just take longer for release, or will you let the idea float away????

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck....

I like little games like this one but just a few comments. It was fun and could be a little better if.

1. You could play this without downloading it.
2. The enemies that can shoot had a little less life so you could kill them just a little quicker with out depending on the rockets all the time.
3. I believe it is when you die that the game tries to load a page that does not exist. (or a layout as they are called in Construct 2) because it kinda crashes the EXE with an Awe snap, page doesn't exist.

But over all I will say that it was fun.

My question is, did you try it. After all, you play the demo for free and possibly win something. Either way no loss to you but some time and that's only if you found the game to be "That Bad".

Plus I believe with all that will be added along with what it is now, a small $3 price tag is really not all that much if the game is fun and addicting.

And another question, what does it lack to be shunned down by you. Who knows it may be added later or it could turn out to be some good advice and we could add it in??

Thanks for your honesty

Neuntoter - - 37 comments @ Tik Tok Tank Demo Contest Version

In all honesty, it is a fun little game. Now as far as the demo goes it is very limited as to what content is in the finished product (more stages, more enemy types, more bosses, unlimited playtime), but the demo does a good job of letting you experience the intense battles that can and will happen. One awesome thing the real game will give you is the exploring and finding permanent power ups on the main over world.

Any ways please leave comments about your experiences good or bad, we really want to know.

I'm thinking about extending the demo gameplay to 7 or 10 minutes. So far let me know what issues might have been found or what parts you guys are having the most fun with.

Oh, the demo came down for a little cause a design issue with 2 levels was causing a crash, so I fixed it and re-posted, and ModDB has to approve everything, so it should be back up very soon

We do have plans on making air type and water type vehicles along with other military based enemies. As far as the player is concerned, it will be a tank for a while. Although it is very possible that in the future that will change.

Also, more modes will be added for more types of gameplay. Right now it is setup to explore, find dungeon or base then defeat that, then explore some more to find next base or dungeon.

The type of game that this is leaves many options that let us expand upon it very easily. So with the help (idea wise) from the community this is hoping to be a very fun and diverse game.

Well, a small update to my previous post. I got Desura, and purchased the game. It was good, the price was good, and hoping with out a sudden end (demo style lol) the game will rock hardcore. I myself being an indie dev knows what is like working on a project. and I do like yours so I am just showing my love. Like I said previous. Awesome so far and just keep up the great work, and definitely hoping to see an episode 2 and 3.

the game itself felt like a Doom 1 isometric game with the dark areas and sounds they used, which IMO gives it bonus points, the controls were good but sometimes got snagged on some corners. It was fun, and I did like it. I would recommend giving the demo a try. if it weren't for having to use Desura, I would have picked it up already, still thinking about it though. Either way great work guys.

It's looking really good and implementing physics can be a daunting task. I pretty much ran into the same issue when making my 2D shooter. trust me, breath, step back, walk around, breath again and then go back with a clear mind, it will all come to you and fall in place. But the pics look amazing and what ever you do, do not give up.

OK, so I DLed and played the 3 levels. You were not joking when you said NES hard. Everything is basically dying until you get the timings down. Well not everything but a good portion. Is this a bad thing. No... that what Contra is and I still play the hell out of that game. GFX are sweet. controls are spot on. (slight issues with timing precision, most likely my controller. very creative level design. it brought me back to the days when I sat back and played a good old school NES game. Overall, I liked it quite a bit.Keep up the good work.

Not to burst bubbles but the images you show kinda look more 16bit to me. But all joking aside this actually looks pretty kick *** and I will be DLing when I get home from work. The visuals look very clean and eye friendly, so as far as those go, keep up the great work and I will post another comment about fun and gameplay.

I DLed it and played for about an hour, I will say it was very enjoyable, very easy and intuitive interface. Controls very responsive and also very easy to use. I loved the dialog. Overall I thought this was a very well put together project (game) and wish you guys the best with this. The game also looked great.
