On windows all executables must be installed to C:\Program Files.

On *nix all executables must be installed to /usr/bin:usr/local/bin.

And user must not write anything to this directories.

If you didn't know how to use console applications you can read books about DOS and/or UNIX Shell.

Materials was removed from original Xash3D in 2017 and people didn't said anything to Unkle Mike.
So IDK what do you want.
Materials code was moved to XashXT and Paranoia 2: The Savior.
It's not hard to return this feature, but there no requests to original Xash3D author.

Developers uses VCS such as git for code, bugreports and documentation.
So you need to ask developers on github/gitea.
No one will use reddit specially for you.

You can make own assets with any tools, it's not trouble.
Trouble in license on engine and SDK source code.
"SDK source code" means source code of client.dll and hl.dll at first.

1. BHL is not opensource, so you need to have reverse-engineering skills to port it.
2. BHL is still under development and ZoonyArts had plans to release source code of final version.
3. New version of BHL will be based on XashXT 0.81 which required new engine.

I did not understand you. I wrote about game code, you wrote about maps. Which troubles may be with maps, if game code not fully legal?

Only Sven-coop 5.0 has linux support and only sven-coop 4.8- will work under Xash3D.
