Is AD 1.9 a possibility down the line? :)
There have been some really great community maps made with AD as a base since 1.81's release!

Regardless, your work is simply spectacular as it is!

He didn't abandon BF. He said he wanted to take some time off BF to work on his side project.

He said on BD's Facebook page:

"Hello everyone. I decided to take a month out of Brutal Fate's development to work on a public beta of Brutal Doom v22 and finish Extermination Day. I believe getting rid of side projects will help to ease my anxiety and help me to focus on Brutal Fate better. Expect to see a lot more activity on this page now."

Muleke_Trairao @ Evil Skill?

Hi, simonoc. I want to first state that Arcane Dimensions is the best Quake mod I've ever played. It added so much variety to the game that I almost can't play vanilla Quake anymore!

Now, I want to ask some things regarding the difficulty settings in the mod, because I can't find more info online.

I've noticed that changes were made to the Nightmare difficulty in AD compared to vanilla Quake. For instance, enemies don't spam ranged attacks anymore, which would render them stationary. You said in the article that, on Nightmare, "monsters have faster reaction times, suffer less from pain and do additional attacks and damage", but I haven't noticed faster reaction times nor additional attacks and damage on Nightmare, at least compared to Hard. Are these specific to certain enemies or something? Could you also provide more info on what the difficulties in AD change in the gameplay compared to vanilla Quake? I'm playing AD 1.81 on Quakespasm-Spiked, btw.

Thank you!

Muleke_Trairao @ Quake Sound Bulb - Remastered Sound Pack for Quake 1

"autoexec.cfg" is a configuration text file that goes inside the "Id1" folder and other game folders, like "hipnotic" and "rogue". If you can't find one located in these folders, you can create one from scratch using a text editor. Windows Notepad or Notepad++ is enough to do that. Make sure the file is saved with that extension and not as "autoexec.cfg.txt" by accident.

You just need to write "sndspeed 44100" (without quotes) in your autoexec.cfg file, save it and there you go.

I know that this is an old comment, but are you sure you saved your autoexec as a .cfg file instead of a .txt (like "autoexec.cfg.txt" by mistake)? By the way, the autoexec.cfg file should be placed inside the Id1 folder, not the Quake's root folder.

Muleke_Trairao @ High quality sound effects (Eduke32, RedNukem, Raze)

Hey there! Thanks for making this mod! However, I'm having issues installing it.

Are you sure that the Raze instructions for applying this pack are correct? I have a little bit of experience loading mods on Raze, and I can't get it to work on Raze 1.4.1. The instructions say to load "DukeNukemHDSounds.zip", but there is no such file, only a folder named "DukeNukemHDSounds" inside "DukeHDsounds.3.zip".

I tried something different after that. What I did was extract the "DukeNukemHDSounds" folder, open it, select all the files and then compress it into a .zip file called "DukeNukemHDSounds.zip". Then, I loaded that .zip file on Raze (like the instructions say) and... it worked? I found some sounds strange, like the explosion sounds, but, as far as I can tell, at least the mod loads now. Not sure if this is the correct way, but it's loading now.

Could you take a look into this matter? Thank you. :)

I can't for the life of me find the secret in map03 (The Wall) of Ashes 2063.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!*

***I mean, I managed to find some hidden supplies in the distance somewhat close to the dam area (that whole area seems out of bounds, though), but no secret was registered. I don't know if that is indeed the secret, but it just doesn't get registered because of a bug, or if the secret is actually somewhere else.***

Don't worry, you don't have to tell me exactly where it is. I just wanted to let you guys know and clarify which of my guesses is correct.

This is my second run. Ashes rocks! :) You guys are goddamn professionals. Can't wait for episode 3!

You can't change region or country on Steam as far as I know, only the language. The mod is simply not available in my country for some reason.
I rather not rely on a VPN, but if it's what I have to do... The mod is free, so Valve wouldn't be losing any money if I did this.

For some reason, the mod on Steam is not available in my region. I'm from Brazil.
I don't understand why that would be the case since it's a mod for HL2, and other HL2 mods on Steam are available to download just fine.

Do you know why that is?

Muleke_Trairao @ Optional 4K/8K textures pack

I see. Well, the textures became so much darker that they are now pitch-black, so they lost all detail. I'm glad you guys are planning to update this, though. Thanks!

About your question: no, I play with mouse and keyboard. Could you clarify "enter and exit weapon customization properly to avoid it"? I mean, I enter the weapon customization by pressing C and exit by pressing C again, but the sight is still bugged out.

I think one of the faulty files must be in the Textures folder. I mean, when I deleted the Textures folder and put my backed up Textures.pak into the Game folder, the Reflex Sight was showing up as intended. Obviously, this created lots of visual glitches because of shader files, but this test I did may help somewhat to investigate the issue further.

Thanks for your attention and hard work!

Muleke_Trairao @ Optional 4K/8K textures pack

I have noticed some bugged textures, like the files "scar_silencer.dds" and "scar_gl.dds" being basically pitch-black. I had to restore the original files from my backed up "Objects.pak" to fix this. Maybe there are more files like this, those are just the ones I found so far.

Also, the Reflex Sight is kinda like MMouse69 has described above. I'm still trying to fix this issue.

Could you guys take a look at these issues?

Thanks in advance, and nice work! I'm loving your mod!

Muleke_Trairao @ Crysis - Maximum Immersion Mod

I know your comment is old, but I think what I'm gonna say might be useful, so I'll share it. The following is stated in the instructions of the Crysis Enhanced mod:

"This mod is meant to be used with the 32 bit version of the game, as the 64 bit is globally unstable with custom textures and objects."

How is this relevant to the issue at hand? Well, I was running the Crysis Maximum Immersion mod, which features custom textures and objects, with the 64 bit executable (Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe) and the game would crash every 15 mins or so. It wasn't crashing before while running the vanilla game. Even if Crysis Enhanced is way more demanding than Crysis Maximum Immersion, it still only functions properly with the 32 bit executable. So I thought, "Why not try running the 32 bit executable (Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe) with Crysis Maximum Immersion to see if it's actually more stable?". And boy, I was able to test the game for around 40 mins with no crashes.

So, for everybody that is struggling to keep the game running with graphics mods without crashing, try the 32 bit executable. It might fix the problem.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
