monke business
Hi, I know it's been a while, but I wanted to let you know that I released a Mac version a while back in case you were interested.
Either you do not have the 1.3 update, or you didn't install the mod in the correct directory. At least it's very unlikely to be anything else.
There wouldn't be a thing called oldschool if oldschool was now, would there?
Admittedly, the controls can be a bit wonky. Perhaps it would be better to run while holding shift, but if that were the case, the player might get tired holding it down constantly, seeing as most of the game is spent running.
Quoted:
"DISCLAIMER: This is mod is in an old-school genre, with an old-school difficulty curve. That means challenging puzzles and platforming. You've been warned! :)"
If you compare the controls to Super Mario World, there's obviously a difference. For what it is, I think it works great. Some of the more difficult levels come easier with experience, and by saying that I am pointing out that it is skill based, not luck based.
But of course if that's how you feel about it, I'm not here to change your opinion. I just want to justify them.
Make sure you've updated the game to 1.3, and then check to see if you installed the mod in the right folder. If it's not in Amnesia's directory, you get this error.
I can give you a hint; it is definitely possible. Took me a while the first time, but the solution is not far off. Keep trying, maybe you'll figure something out :P
I've been scouting for some let's plays, and so I found yours just before I saw this comment :P
I like.
In the readme.txt file, it proposes where the default directories are. If you have a Steam copy, it's probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Amnesia The Dark Descent.
If you got a retail copy, I THINK it is just in your program files.
Not yet, I'm afraid. I will release a Mac version eventually, but I have to wait until Frictional Games updates the game to no longer require Steam (for Steam copies at least, which is what I have). I don't know when that will happen.
It really is a wonder. I was worried I was way too late to the party with this one, but I suppose it's better late than never :)
High five indeed!
Yes it is :)
I believe I've spent a total of 5 weeks on it. 4 last summer, then 1 now to port, update and improve it.
You can grab the files from the download in the description of any of the videos.
I was just scrolling through things as I was uploading such a video and since your comment was somewhat recent, I thought I might as well link it. I hope that helps you out!
Oh? Are you talking about the model or the idea?
It actually is, it's just from this angle, it's not visible. There are two 2D images crossing each other to make the chain, and when you look at it from the side, the 2D plane is 0 pixels thick.
Shouldn't be a problem. Can't be that hard, eh?
I hope you won't let that thing put you down, because I can assure you this is something completely different in quality. To be fair, Last Night WAS our first ever CS, and yes it wasn't great but what can you expect?
Heh, glad you like it so far :)
I'm likely gonna change the texture though, as I kinda rushed that part.
Well if you'd like to know, we knew people didn't like them, and we didn't either, so we tried not having any, although we did add something just for the ***** and giggles, but more as a parody than actually intending to scare you. Oh well.
Someone found there was a slight chance it could appear in the hole, so we made sure to patch it up before anything serious happened.
Well, we haven't really released that much info about the story in particular, mostly because it's not actually done. What is certain is written up there. Getting the story worked out is the largest obstacle now I'd say.
I don't really know much about Desura, but since we're taking this project further than what we normally would, I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. ^^
Heh, yeah thanks for that. I know there are a lot of things we could've done better, but as a first mod, I'm ok with it. The next one shall be more polished :P
Heh thanks. Glad you enjoyed this random thing we pulled out of our behinds.

I'm a random guy who likes to help people out. I also make some tutorials and applications for Amnesia - The Dark Descent. You can check out my Modloader on the Amnesia downloads page.
