I just recently woke up from coma.

If that happens on game startup, it's probably caused by hl2_pak_dir.vpk.
Although standalone version doesn't ship with that file.

Open gameinfo.txt (it's in cracklifecmr folder) and remove line:
game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2/hl2_pak.vpk

It contains bsp files for maps to use in Hammer and scenes for Faceposer, so yes, you need Crack-Life CMR, at least if you want to see models, textures, etc.

No, it requires Half-Life: Source maps and assets and as far as I know Half-life: Deathmatch Source doesn't have them.

Well, I think so. Let's say it's on my TO DO list after I'm done with my current mods.
I actually bought Half-Life: Alyx just to play with Source 2 and see how the stuff works there.
But I will definitely make one when I have the opportunity (and VRs).

For V1 you need custom folder in bms for V1.5 you just place it in Black Mesa folder and restart Steam.

But don't install it now, it's outdated and doesn't work with the newest version of Black Mesa (1.0/XEN).

There are too many incompatibilities with levels, missing or changed files, broken HDR, so don't bother installing it now.

I'm going to relase an update that will fix all of these issues and add now content.

If you're using Sourcemod version you need to open your Steam library select TOOLS and download Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer and set beta version to upcoming in its properties.
Then place cracklifecmr folder you downloaded in sourcemods folder.
Then restart Steam and it should appear in your library.

If you're using Standalone version just launch the mod by clcmr.exe

I'm going to use lines from 2012 Crack-Life.

This is only for Steam version of Black Mesa. It doesn't work with Black Mesa 2012. Also this version (1.5) is obsolete right now since Xen is out.

In this case Standalone means that it uses separate folder instead of being a simple addon for Black Mesa.
Basically you can launch it as different game, so it won't interfere with regular Black Mesa.

If you choose Standalone version you can place the folder wherever you want.
If you choose Sourcemod version you need to place cracklifecmr in sourcemods folder and install Source SDK 2013 Singleplayer on Steam.

This is weird. Standalone version was meant to work like: you download and launch. I tested in on multiple systems and computers and it always worked for me. I have never encountered this kind of bug though. Maybe it is caused by some other Source engine game or some settings in Windows register. If you are sure that all files are in the place and you followed instruction properly then I don't know what is the problem. If nothing else works, you can try to launch the Steam/Sourcemod version, maybe this one will work for you.

What method did you use to launch the mod?
Shortcut method or did you launch it by clcmr.exe

I could, but it would still require source sdk 2013 to run. I think there is hl1 hud mod for Garry's Mod tho. Maybe this would be more convenient.

Maybe you'll have to use Wine in order to run it.

You need to download it on Steam.
It should be in tools tab in your library.
But if you don't want to mess with it you can always download the standalone version.

Just rename tech demo folder to cracklifecmr_old or something like that.

You need Black Mesa in order to play Crack-Life Remastered.
Crack-Life Remastered Standalone != Crack-Life CMR Standalone

Standalone version in this case has it's own folder instead of being loose vpk files. You need to place that folder in Black Mesa folder in order for this mod to work. Read the instruction.
