Mind Factory Studios news!

OutReach is now called 'OutReach Dex's Odyssey' - ODO for short.

We have been doing a ton of work for ODO in the past few weeks and are coming close to the end of the development cycle. It's been very exciting seeing something so simple and plain evolve into a beautiful piece of art! To help us get the show on the road, I will be adding a prelude to ODO here on Indiedb that tells the back story of how Dex started his crusade to find humanity. It should be uploaded in the next day or so and stay tuned for a ton of artwork to be dumped here!

In the meantime Dex has started his own twitter account posting journal entries of his attempts at rebuilding his life and the discoveries of the new world around him. Follow him here @Outreach_Dex.

Dex's first robot. He now manages the shop and is a little impatient. Don't mind him though, he just wants to help...

Dota Addictions and Pixel Art

MindFactoryStudios Blog

Hello all!
It's been awhile since we have done one of these blog posts but now is as good a time as any! We also plan to do some developer blogs for our recently announced game OutReach so stay tuned for those. They will go over new art and code as well as the random things we as a team do. Speaking of team we have finally found our core group.

It consists of Trevor as lead programmer, Bair as lead artist and designer, Sonny as an Artist, and Dan as our music / sound guy and occasional programmer. This has let us fine tune and stream line our entire creative / development process so now we should be able to pump out some good stuff!

Also in news, we are all addicted to Dota 2 right now. Generally you will find us running around as a 2-3 man team killing fools and having a blast so if you Dota 2 it up send us a message! We love playing!

I know this was a short post but I hope to stay on top of this stuff and I am looking forward to all the other cool stuff happening this year!

Oh, the pixel art... uh... This was just a fun side thing I did. Low Poly 3d plus pixel art textures.

Stay tuned for a dev log on OutReach for a ton of Pixel Art! I am excited to share all this cool stuff with you guys and gals!

Bye for now!

Hello everyone out there!

MindFactoryStudios Blog

Greetings to all who visit!

We are Mind Factory Studios! Just a group of guys that hang out making games together out of a garage. We currently have one game out on the App Store called Little City and are in the process of rebuilding it for a PC release! Check out our games section for more on Little City!

The team is made up of 5-7 people depending on our moods.

Trevor Rice is our lead programmer and 1/2 of the team that started Mind Factory Studios. He is usually programming and talking about stuff that most common people do not understand. When he is not programming Trevor is destroying people in Starcraft 2 and other various competitive games.

John Bair, that's me, is the lead artist and designer as well as other 1/2 of the original Mind Factory Studios team. I day dream a lot, love to work in 3d and recently fell in love with pixel art. I play all the games I can get my hands on and love to check out indie games! You can follow me on twitter: @evilblah, my blog at: www.evilblah.blogspot.com,, or watch me fail at games on: www.twitch.tv/mfs_evilblah..

Dan Romero-Quiroga is our sound engineer and second programmer. He has a million hidden talents and refuses to share them with us unless we ask him. For instance, we had no idea he had any musical talent until we needed music for Little City and he nonchalantly brought up the fact that he composes music for fun. Dan plays all kinds of games but is impatiently waiting for DOTA 2.

Geoff Loo is one of our artists with some sick character modeling skills. He is always striving to learn new techniques or improve himself as an artist. The tallest of us, he is also the quietest. Just don't turn your back to him because he is usually scheming to play a trick on you. Geoff, is often found playing all kinds of games but generally falls back to Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Minecraft.

Sonny Garcia is the last of our art crew, silently working away and constantly questioning the awesome art he does. Once he starts an art piece it quickly becomes something amazing. When he isn't playing Magic or doing artwork, you can find him running marathons all over the west coast. Sonny is the only one I know that actually has a bigger game collection then I do.

How to follow and find these guys will be added in another blog post, or maybe I will be able to convince them to post on here with that info!

As for our company, we have two other titles in development, the third title is only in development as one of our programmers randomly writes codes for other games. Hence the third title. Our second title will be revealed as we make a little more progress on it but we are all very excited about it. Art and Code is being churned out daily and it just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to show that off soon!

In the meantime, welcome to the Mind Factory Studios indieDB page and we hope you enjoy what you find here! Also check us out on www.mindfactorystudios.com!!
