If by solo you mean singleplayer, then please do a little research on the subject. There are still tons and tons of single player games being released every year that are wildly successful. In fact to really grill this well over 1 year old post, the year this was posted hosted two of the highest selling games of the year, Nier Automata, and Zelda Breath of the Wild, both heavy contenders for GotY and both single player experiences only. and thats not even mentioning Hollow Knight, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hellblade, BloodCells, Mario Odyssey, Night in the Woods, The Surge, and A Hat in Time which were also released that very year.
To even further grill it in 2016 you had DOOM2016, Hitman, DisHonored 2, Deus ex Mankind divided, and Final Fantasy 15, and in 2015 you had Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Ori and the Blind Forest, Mad Max, Just Cause 3, Axiom Verge and.. well you get the point.

So yes. Solo. In 2017. Really.

How will the character customization work in this? Will it be similar to PotC or age of pirates 1 - 2, or will we be looking at something else entirely? That is to say, will you get to customize your own captain, or will you be picking among several captains that follow their own stories?

Im very interested in this O: ive always loved the egg fleet, and always wondered how it would pan out in actual combat, especially since eggmans fleet usually never even sees real combat.

Playing it, its pretty fun, but im having trouble getting my head around the game itself.
The controls seem a little clunky, but i think i can get by for a little bit. I think the major things that bother me is the fact that you lose your groups upon reloading the game, so you have to go and rebind your set groups again, which is annoying.
Another thing that bothers me is the unit upgrade. It itself is a great idea, but having to click on the individual units to upgrade them is irritating. It would be faster if you could bring up a menu and do it from there, or at the least have them selected via shift menu and upgrade them from there.
Ive only played a little bit so far. though. So thats all the complaints i really have.

Must say, im probably a blackish sheep though. I never really was a big fan of 3 and NV. Just didnt really give me that spark that first drew me to the first 2.
That and im tired of seein games get converted into an fps or a hack an slash, buh thats for another rant. -nods nods- (especially since due to legal issues, they couldnt keep the original engine. Its also a shame that tactics got lost to that as well.)

Probably dealing with legal hell, seeing as the interplay contract will be running out with this game.

Once again, i agree with the results (except the computer stuff.. i have no monies to upgrade q-q but i guess ill see what i can do)

Also you should totally put some ideas together for later on making a total fantasy steampunk game. Airships in the age of sail would be boss as long as it was believable.

And ofcoarse i do love the way the results came out. I get the feeling that this will be like one of the several pirate story/book/movie/ect out there where they are in a realistic setting, but at one point or another they end up having something that happens that has absolutely nothing to do with the plot (like ending up on a ghost ship, or landing on a ghost island, or mermaids tempting sailors, the kraken attacks, ect.) One could easily fit small tales like these in since there were several stories of these being told during that time.

There is no such thing as a good religion, or a bad religion. religion is religion and only exists because people follow it. if no one followed christianity, if god exists, he wouldnt come down and smite us all. there just wouldnt be any christianity.
as for the good/bad portions of it all, those are simple opinions. one mans treasure is another mans trash as they say.

no forums? D: forums would be best, but slow at first. just a small forums for now. like a forum for each game, and sub forums for feed back, suggestions, ect.
you may not think youre big enough for that yet, but when/if you do get that big, youll deff want forums.

for alot of people, doing is learning, so if you have all the keys put in, that will help a lot a lot.

you could also have bee wax gatherable if you wanted.
you could use the bee wax to make small hives that could spawn bees for honey, or other things.
Honey could be used for healing stuff, or maybe even as bait for mobs? O:
