By the way, the lack of mirrors could be due to the lack of them around your area - europe seems to be ok.

Right-click The Specialists on the Steam library. Click 'Properties'. Click 'Set Launch Options'.
Then type '-dxlevel 90' (without the '') into the box. Then click OK. That might make it work.

This is easily the best HL1 mod out there.

Aiming a mod at ages from 10 years old which uses an engine rated 15+ isn't a very good idea, to be honest.

Instead of making a new one, why don't you just IMPROVE your old one, which will stop people from saying that it's bad, THEN make a new one. That makes perfect sense to me.

It is worth the money. It's only £6 ($10), anyway.

Try reinstalling it or checking the integrity of the game files. If that doesn't work, open 'set launch options...' in properties and type -dxlevel 81. That let me get the online multiplayer working on it.

Any full source game. Demos (such as Portal: The First Slice) don't work, though. Steam won't let you buy it anyway, unless you have one of the required games.
