Ack, you're right. I meant Tale of Tales's the Graveyard. Thanks for catching that.

Edit: fixed.

Mclogenog @ Offspring Fling has been RELEASED!

The visuals (and the throwing mechanic) remind me a lot of Yoshi's Island, and the soundtrack reminds me of Banjo Kazooie. Agh, so much nostalgia.

Incredible work with the godrays in the background. It's subtle. At first I thought it was some sort of hardcore emitter going on. Very nice.

Interesting. The animation is very smooth, perhaps even a little too graceful. It looks like the animation spends too much time in the air before falling to the ground. It is very well done, but it can be pushed even further. Nice work.

The death sound effects are a bit annoying, but besides that, it is a great deal of fun.

Kind of like "Leon: The Assassin" Actually, no, not really, just similar names and characters and environment.

Interesting shadows. You made them transparent/weakened them, or did you simulate light reflection? Haha! That isn't so much a question as a statement of curiosity (You would have jobs before you could say "Yo" if you had simulated light reflection without dropping framerates below playability). Still, nice work.

Certainly this is the right place for this kind of discussion, that's what I made it for! As far as my own work, I'm not attempting a book, but rather am writing short stories presently. Some sci-fi, some horror, but really any genre works as long as my thought(s) get through by the end. I also have a novella "on the back stove".

Since you're missing some of your pages, I'd start with typing the pages that you do have and then when you hit a missing page, just write it. By that time you should have built up momentum to continue from whatever you were typing. In the future though, try to be a little more organized, which is a hypocritical thing for me to say (as I have about a dozen random story introductions and ideas scattered about the house at any given time).

My personal opinion is that writing by hand provides better pacing, and you physically know when you should take a break. If I type my thoughts, often I type more quickly than I think and repeat myself or skip important information. If I write with a pen I can think through every sentence more thoroughly by the time I've finished writing it. Of course if your handwriting isn't so good, then you might want to stick the computer. Another beauty of long hand drafting is that you can edit your work as you type it into the computer, thus omitting needless words and reworking redundancy. My final note on why writing long hand is that it is far more accessible, you may not enjoy writing ideas into a pathetically small journal, but it serves its purpose when you hit an inspiration gold mine and have nowhere to put it before it becomes foggy. That's that, and I'm glad to have you here.

We are currently working on the second release. This probably won't be for some time though. Before release, we'll probably be releasing some teaser content.

again, I'm not used to the way valve games work, I would need to buy Half Life 2 Orange Box to play it, right?

Too many C&C mods, especially for someone who didn't really like the original that much anyhow. Yes, this comment is not the very polite "welcome to UT3 engine" that I think you were expecting, but hopefully it'll save you guy(s) from a few wasted years when there are already, what, 4 or 5 other C&C mods out there? If you do something with even the slightest bit of originality, it might stand above the heap of "just mods". I hope you take my words fairly without deeming me evil for being so realistic in this matter.

Good luck in your endeavors,

I've started up a group for anyone who likes writing or is looking for some criticism. Moddb.com.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was good, by the way. The written ending was a bit weak because it used summarization, but the plot conclusion was lovely. I wouldn't recommend it everyone, but it is a must read if you're going through classic literature.

Wow, I might just need to pick up Half Life 2 orange box for this, and zombie panic of course. I'm not familiar with how the source games are connected, but if I purchased Left 4 Dead, would I be able to play Half Life 2 orange box mods on it?

Alright, let's try and get this going, shall we? I'll probably be uploading a bit of random "flash fiction" into the forums and use one of them as the model for upload procedures. Anyhow, hopefully people will overcome any fear of exposing their work to criticism and make best use of this group.

Almost finished with Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, I'll post my opinions of it afterwards. As a note, I'm reading it as part of an analysis of classic British Literature, but I'm surprised with its quality so far and have enjoyed it.
