Windows 7 64Bit and AMD-E-Series-E2-1800-Notebook Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E135, with Radeon card.

I noticed that the freeze is not happening at every playthrough, at least not in my last two.

About the stairs down: maybe I got this wrong; when you leave the first few floors the number of rooms and corridors to explore increases and it just so happens that you can use a stair down outside of the explored area of the previous floors. It teleports you a level back but to a single stairs-up tile where you can only travel back down, surrounded by black tiles. Nothing game breaking, just looks weird because there are so many stairs up and down outside the previous dungeon layout. Those stairs up also show up on the minimap of the previous level.

Found two issues in the current build:
1. If you enter level 3 or 4 (not sure) and the map size increases the first time, you can use the stairs down to enter the dark area around the previous level. You can't really do something there but it looks out of place.
2. If there is only one way for the path finding to find and a monster blocks the way and you click behind the monster, the game will freeze for a short period of time. Just annoying but not game breaking.

I tried both, fullscreen and window and it does not run any better. I noticed that once I go to the options menu an back the game runs at full fps for about half a second then it drops again. I'll make a video after my workshift to illustrate the issue. Thanks for looking into this, really appreciated.

No, no black screen at all. I think it all started to lag 2 or 3 patches ago. I try to reinstall the game and see if that solves the problem.

I deleted the folder already as I have read that before. No change. The game takes up 128MB in RAM, and I also noticed that one cpu core is always at 100% when I have the game open, no matter what.

Specs: Pastebin.com

Same for me, I have like 2 fps and everything lags. Before, it was alright and I had decent fps. No idea as I did not changed anything on the hardware side, no new drivers either.

The last update finally made me play again. Great update, especially the pathfinding adds a lot of fun back into the game. Keep up the good work! :)

maVado99 @ Dungeon Lore

After some polishing this could be an indie gem.

Improvements:
- quick exit after completing a dungeon
- mouse over for spells at the top
- use fonts and real text instead of textures for the inventory (having set this to low at my ATI control panel I cannot read any text due to the compressed texture resolution)
- auto target next opponent in combat when there are more then one (currently you need to manually select them)
- healing animation takes too long and distracts from the gameplay
- add some indication if the opponent is a challenge (or not)
- remove the reroll for loot, it makes no sense that you can fail at the roll and then reroll as often as you want to finally loot something
- the voice acting does not sound believeable

cheers

I am playing Underrail for a while now and still enjoy it a lot. The only complain I have are the huge loading and saving times (up to 30 seconds). Even quicksave takes the same time. Also saving is not running as different instance, so the game will just freeze or block the screen while tabbing out of the application. I hope this will settle in the future.

Keep in mind that different keyboard layouts are used to play your game, for example, my Z key is beside QWERT.

About resolution. I have a midibook with 1366*768, so the previous resolution was just fine. All I need right now is a way to fullscreen it. Otherwise I end up scrolling up and down in the application window. This is also the reason why I stopped playing the current build.

maVado99 @ Patch 1.0.2 Released - 7th January 2013

When you open and close a door, you can shoot (bow/crosscow) crates and barrels in the fog of war area. Just noticed this one.

After thinking about it, I believe that having all those bonuses permanently would probably ruin the game. How about having those as temporary buffs from shrines/altairs or scrolls? - or maybe as a lets say 100 turns buff from defeating bosses?

How about a 4th tree in the skill tree that is more general, it could increase fog of war, gold drop, magic find, crafting results etc. It could scale with the level, like lets say every 5 level you can put one point in there. It could also aid to the gameplay, like detecting nearby enemies behind a room or a little arrow showing up, pointing to the next shop and so on.

Also I would love to see scrolls drop with different spells based on intelligence value.

Just some suggestions.

Finally made it a whole 3 hours into the game, level 13 right now with a 350+ hitpoints ranger character. Almost completely explored three borders of the map. The level size is just impressive!

Just found a small show stopper, you cannot have more then 9 buffs right now, or the game will crash. Tested it multiple times with 5 passive buffs and just eating potatoes until the game crashes.

Looking forward to the next build.

Played two rounds, both ended real quick after about 10 minutes when I found the boss with level 1 and 2 and had no chance. Besides that I had a lot of fun collecting and bashing stuff. Combat is fun too. Only complain I have is the scrolling, because it centers after each move and I have to basically adjust the mouse position after each tile just to move from one room to the other. I would prefer a more subtile movement that would just scroll one time when I reach a screen border for example.

Besides that, really keep it up, absolutely worth the money!
