Hello,
thanks, and yes, you'll get a Steam Key if the game gets on Steam (you'll already have the link to request it in your License Key email but it'll tell you to wait for Steam release when you open it).

Both games get their main inspiration from Dungeon Master and its grid-based movement, so they ought to look similar.
But I also really liked the mossy dungeon of Grimrock and asked my environment artist to create an old mossy stone wall set. If you look in details, you'll see that nothing is same, but despite that the general impression is similar anyway.
Except that, pretty much everything else is different, especially the gameplay, but also the other environments.

No, it won't be free. I hope it doesn't look like it should be free, as I'd like to sell it in sufficient quantities to finance a sequel, or at least an add-on.

No, sorry. There are a ton of other kind of creatures though.

manutoo @ The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians - Looking for Beta Testers!

Hello, thanks for your interest !
Could you send me a message from here : Managames.com ..?
If you never wrote any review or stuff like that, just write a couple sentences about your favorite RPG or Dungeon Crawler game, and why you like it, so I'll know if you're a good fit to do some beta testing.
And in any case, I'll answer you to your email address.

The net play didn't change a lot, but have been tuned over the years. If your skilled enough, you can use the accelerated volley which usually ends in a winner.

There's a jump at the net, but no dive.

Then you have no idea what "simulation" means...
And of course, you can disable the visual helpers in game...
I also never wrote that Top Spin was "Stand around watching players walk back and forth" ; please stop using drug before coming here...

Helpers can be turned on/off as you prefer.

There are better things to do in life than watching your player walking to his serve/return position 50 times per set... ;-)

You can find a demo on Mana Games website.
I'd move to another lib than DirectPlay, but unfortunately, there's no free equivalent (there's either pricey high level lib, or free low level lib, while I need a medium level lib).

Top Spin is AAA game ; TE is a Indie game ; TE is also a lot more a tennis simulation than any TS opus was.
So if you like tennis in real, you might prefer TE ; if you like the eye candies & a more arcade gameplay, then maybe not.

Online mode won't come to Linux (except if someone ports DirectPlay library to it).
A 16-year long career in World Tour will take you about 100 hours to finish (and the double if you play the real number of sets per match). That's 0.2€ / hour, it ain't too bad... ;)

Online mode is available only with the Windows version. If you bought the Mac or Linux version, your Key also works with the Windows version, though.
