Liked the first game, so was looking forward to the next game in the series. However, I never could get this one to work. You might have the same problem with Win 8 64-bit and ATi 5770.
Simple rogue game that doesn't seem to aspire to be more than it is. Even through I am not a huge fan of this type of game, I enjoyed its simplicity.
Interesting idea when it works, but it is buggy on Windows 8 64-bit. After playing it for a while, I was wishing for a bit more audio control or even the ablity to all build your own level using self-created music.
Never got it to work on Windows 8 64-bit, with an Ati 5770 using the basic troubleshooting option I knew about. Since I got it with a indie bundle, I'm not worried about it---just play another game.
The graphics, interface and sound place my thoughts back to picking up an old game boy. It captures that essence nicely.
Unfortunately, the controls are a let down. They are unintuitive and a bit buggy. Why give the option to do something in a menu, but you can't actually use it? I think that this would be a good game provided there was more polish to the controls.
This game has an interesting mix of sound and Dr Mario type gameplay.
Its it not my thing as it is a little mindless, even for a casual game but there are some cool gameplay ideas here that could be fleshed out.
Right now, if feels like a mini-game found in larger RPGs.
