ModDB signed me out and showed as a guest instead, just in case the comment doesn't show up:

Thanks for the reply. I was going to try that originally but I ultimately didn't because I wasn't dure if RBDoom 2.1 had features that the mod needed. Are there any compatibility issues when replacing it?

loanstar744 @ Doom 3 BFG: UltimateHD

For some reason, RBDoom3BFG.exe keeps asking for XInput1_4.dll which is specific to Windows 8+, so it won't launch on a Windows 7 system as it was never released for Windows 7. Is this by choice or some kind of bug?

loanstar744 @ Vice City Stories: PC Edition

It doesn't matter if they get paid for it or not. Unless all of this was completely made by the VCSPC team Rockstar has every right to shut them down as they are giving out content to a game many probably don't own. I was really looking forward to this as I have the game on PSP and can't stand the controls but it's an amazing game, it takes the best of Vice City and gives it a bit of San Andreas with a soundtrack just as good as Vice City's with a pretty damn good story. It really sucks Rockstar is coming down on them but Rockstar is usually pretty relentless about copyright and property infringement. If only Rockstar would have ported over this masterpiece and LCS themselves they wouldn't have needed to come down on the little guys for doing what R* should have done.

Blow up all the electronics in the top room either by using explosives, melee weapons or regular weapons then all the doors unlock except for Door 1 and you have to fight all the zombies and red dudes that come out of the cells.

Just checked it out and that looks really good with the bloom effect added. Does everything I was just suggesting. Great job, man.

I gotta say, that looks absolutely fantastic. Really gives off a great polished plastic look.

loanstar744 @ Inverted Normal Map Fix

Just a friendly suggestion out of the blue and I agree with Dzev. Plastic is usually shiny, in the case of Army Men though it's a very rough and unpolished plastic with little to no light refraction. But they come in both varieties so it's hard to say for sure until you know which one you want to go for. If you go with a rough plastic surface there should be a bit more light reflecting than unpolished rubber so a dull shining effect around central lit areas would be accurate.

Two settings you should adjust is keep Lighting at high and keep Shadows at medium. It's a bug with the shadow resolutions that was never fixed and causes huge slow downs.

loanstar744 @ 2013 and Haunt 2.0

This usually happens with games that default to any Direct X version higher than 9. You can try forcing a UDK game to use only DX9 by putting the command "-dx9" at the end of the target in the shortcut properties. I used to have this issue with an old computer. Could also be your GPU doesn't support DX8.

Unless UE3 games are just too slow to work for you?

loanstar744 @ what makes CPi fast? why is CPi semi-realistic?

This makes me even more eager to play. Lately I've been growing tired of games like COD and BF3 and haven't actually touched them in a while in favor of games like Unreal Tournament 3, UT 2004, Nexuiz, Open Arena, Red Eclipse, etc because of the pure skill those games take unlike in COD, firing with any kind of sniper rifle and hoping you kill the enemy even if it's a headshot it may not count or won't kill him, other times shooting at his chest is an instant kill and tells me it was a headshot...specially in COD BO2 as of late. While I'm also a big fan of CS I'd say it takes much more skill than COD or BF since it's not just a hit and miss thing.

Disclaimer: I still love COD, BF, CS and all of the above and I'm not saying they're bad games, just, they can get kind of frustrating when it sometimes deals with luck.

I agree, some toned down bloom and DOF would really help make it more believable and better looking.

Is there a good place to talk about feedback? Private message, external website, etc. or are the comments it?

I'd really like to give feedback on this marvelous mod but I'm afraid I have a LOT to talk about.

Haga is right, it's an non-collectible entity, even using fly in the console and trying to collect it doesn't work, you pass right through it without grabbing it. I suspect a later update will shine some light onto it.

loanstar744 @ The Hero of Time Update 07/12

Firstly, just want to say that music was done amazingly, I was a little hesitant at listening to it at first because I haven't heard anyone redo Ocarina of Time music properly but I gave it a go and it is fantastic, best remake I've heard done by far and since it's not EXACTLY like the original it's got it's own sound, it sounds a bit fresh, newer if you will, like if it were done for Skyward Sword.

Also, I knew exactly what song the mystery song was right when I heard it even if it is backwards, I won't spoil it for others though.

Would it be plausible to show some early progress of the development of the game?

loanstar744 @ Update 30

What version of Windows are you running? You should be able to put the disc in, reboot then press a key to go to the Windows disc and there should be an option of repairing Windows files, this replaces all current Windows files and installs missing files without having to wipe the hard drive.

Well one of my trades is being a fairly good writer with great grammar.
If you want I could give it a swing and if you need some kind of sample page of mine to see my skill then here: Samusfanboy744.deviantart.com

Funny thing is that it's close on the lines with what this Mod's summary suggests.

Great looking and mapping is fantastic so far though I did have a question, are you going to stay with the HL2 zombies or maybe go with something a little more realistic like Left 4 Dead looking zombies?

loanstar744 @ Alpha feedback

Glad to see the list you put together and can't wait for the next Alpha, though one thing does get me, third person is cool and all, I really like having that option, but with the way the game is designed, the map, it really wouldn't work because of the confined spaces such as the test screenshot you posted above, I think it would complicate the game, but if you find a way to nicely implement it and have a toggle for it, then it think that would be best as it would please both sides. Maybe an over the shoulder camera.

I love you so much just for that.

loanstar744 @ Alpha 1

Played it, liked it, though I did see and find a few weird issues.

When I first started the game, selecting buttons was a little off, I'd have to bring the mouse pointer directly under a button in order for it to light up and select it.

When I got to the game, it looked great, specially the lighting and Dynamic Shadows, the motion blur looked good as well and being able to control how strong it is was a great added feature.

I noticed I would get stuck in walls or under raised blocks, the only solution was to look away from the blocks and keep hitting Mouse 1.

I also noticed you can't actually swim, you can't control the character in the water, they just float to the top and you can select which way to bounce, I think maybe being able to swim might be a better idea as I often got stuck in the water.

I also noticed that when extending red blocks you fall off no matter when you stop and they always seem to extend up as well which at first kept getting me stuck in the ceiling and causing me to fall to my death.

Another thing, I think implementing E as the key to wall run left AND right would be a little less difficult for the player, often times I found myself hitting E to run on a wall to my left and again fell to my death.

Overall I think it was a great Alpha test, I liked the cell phone system too, not complicated at all and being able to send different kinds of messages to the Unknown character was a great idea as well, adds a bit more realism to the setting and I really liked the game, my favorite part was probably kicking holes in everything. :P

Keep up the great work, I'd love to keep testing it and give you more helpful information on it.

If that doesn't work, check Task Manager and see if you have any other installers showing, sometimes Windows uses TrustedInstaller for something which uses .msi the same installer as the one LEMMA uses.

loanstar744 @ Mindworld: Shattered Dreams

I actually like UDK better than Source just because of all the tools it comes with, but in terms of coding and creating custom content, I would have to steer toward Source, not to mention anyone with atleast a 2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and any GPU with atleast 128MB of VRAM can run Source games with really no problems, unlike Unreal 3, you're lucky if it'll even start on that kind of setup. I think switching to Source was actually a great idea, I really want to see where this now Mod goes.

loanstar744 @ Primal Carnage - Alpha Gameplay 3

I think it plays pretty evenly, I mean it's just like in CS:S, if you get knifed in the back, instant kill, plus humans can attack at a distance and you CAN save your partner if they are leaped on by a Raptor.

Good karma+1 vote
loanstar744
loanstar744 @ Down the Barrel with Super Joe #1

I really cannot wait for this, but I do have to ask; will the Weapon selection be any different this time around?
Because in Firearms 1.0f the selection system is rather confusing, I think being able to change your weapon setups before a match might prove to be more effective as in COD's Custom Classes or maybe something more user friendly such as CSS were you change your weapons at the start of each life and have four quick save slots for each faction. That's my only concern as I've seen the screens and videos and this looks absolutely fantastic, I've been waiting forever to see a game like this on Source that isn't a war simulator such as Insurgency and not to mention without all the bugs. Just good old fashioned Arcade FPS action with some added features.
