It's looking like a demo for City of Amber is finally on the horizon! Right now, as the game stands, the demo will be as long as (If not, longer than) GP: Redux Part 1!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to toss out some development notes and fun facts that compare and contrast GP: Redux and City of Amber today.

To start, Grave Prosperity was never presented with a story. It was meant to slowly unravel as the game progressed through its episodic play. Unfortunately that meant that nothing was known about the Protagonist either. It made it difficult to really care about Amber and what she was doing. With City of Amber I decided to make it in the exact opposite way.

This time you will know your character's past, her feelings on that past, and where she plans to take her future- all right out of the gate. Even her body is a representation of her history and character. From the battle scars that cover her back, to the large wings tattooed under them which represent her desire for freedom from her current life. Everything tells a story in this game. And the rather thickly laid on theme in the intro will have heavy influence over the creatures and horrors Lilly will encounter in Prosperity. There aren't just unexplainable nastys crawling around in the dark anymore. Now many of the monsters (and sometimes locations) will be a product of Lilly's own personal demons and faltering sanity.

There is a lot going into this on all fronts, and I am very excited about its completion!

The actual 3d models are bought from vendors at Renderosity and Daz3d. Everything else is done by me though.

*Added environmental effects (Flies, roaches)
*Added ability to turn around while blocking
*Changed blood effects (Tweaked imagery, blood now remains on floor for longer)
*Reduced final boss's HP by half (The fight was too drawn out and made for a tedious experience)

A decision has finally been made for the distribution of Grave Prosperity: Redux. Due to many additions and changes in assets, each part of GP: Redux will be sold at $1.99 USD. Originally the game was going to be free, but there has been so much more put into the project than I ever expected there to be.

Hello everybody! It's been a little while since anything good has been posted on the project. I do apologize for the lack of content lately, stuff in real world land has been slowing my progress immensely. Stuff like work! SO.... The game is still coming along nicely, if even only at a crawl's speed, but quality won't be sacrificed just to make a deadline. I wanted to have Part 1 complete before the new year but I don't see that happening at this rate. In any case, I will keep everyone updated as things come along!

I found this video of someone playing Grave Prosperity: Redux and thought it was an interesting watch

Sounds like it's Italian, so I have no idea what the guy is saying, but after about 7 minutes in some of his reactions are priceless! I love to see people enjoying my work and I hope to find more playthroughs as time goes on! Let's all show MrResetX some love for his support!

That's very strange... It's not a bug I have ever encountered, and nobody else I know has encountered it either (I've been trying to make it happen on my computer but it won't happen). Without being able to re-create it I can't fix it. I'm sorry but I really don't know what to say about your predicament. Hopefully no other weird things like this pop up in the future.

Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the demo! A surprising amount of people still want this to be playable on the keyboard, so maybe for the release of the complete game I will include a keyboard version.

Of course! I am always happy to help! If you enjoyed the old ones then you will love this one. It fixes on controls and has a much more user friendly menu system. Thank you for being a great gamer!

Oh wow, you're playing the old one?? Yes for that game you will want to take the save file from the end of part 1 and put it into the file where part 2 is located. The old Grave Prosperity games and the new one do not run together though. They have the same protagonists, but the story is totally different. Redux is basically what I wanted the old games to be, but lacked the knowledge and engine support at the time.

This is a heads up for anyone who downloads the demo! THIS GAME ONLY SUPPORTS THE CONTROLLER! THE KEYBOARD WILL NOT WORK! Gamepad is ideal, but Microsoft 360 and next-gen controllers work too. Also, Sony should work fine as well, just keep in mind that the buttons are tuned to an X-Box layout (A, X, Y, B). Already had some play testers complain about this, but it is in anyone's best interest to play this game with a controller. Otherwise it would be like playing any Devil May Cry game on the keyboard (Probably not fun). This was a design choice to keep the controls as user-friendly as possible since the RMXP games' controls were their biggest issue.
