I would suggest learning unity and unreal4 engines as they are most comman indie game engines

I tried Open Freespace but could not get it to work as well as it should

I would like the OAD mod more then the Freespace 2 as freespace2 is difficult to get mods working well with it and is pain in the neck to configure to run on modern computer systems

I would make it that you could sling something else that apes and chimpanzes have been known to throw aka fecal Matter

I would suggest you use a cloud storage site like mega or mediafire as off site storage incase your computer has any more trouble that way you have it backed up to X point and then do not have to rewrite the whole game

it could be that some of the polygons have the wrong facing normals and that is causing the 12 error as I do not known what program you made it with I can't sayhow to fix it exactly but I would suggest that you check the way the normals are facing as that is a good start

I can do 3d models of some of the pokemon if you wanted them

I am wondering if any one else is having issue with updating homeworld 2 to 1.1 on windows 7 I have tried how it says with Vista and it does not work for me it say that the file is not right even thought its a fresh install of homeworld 2
