I have uploaded a new version of the demo. This fixes a bug that caused in some cases the mouse to not work. This bug is a bit larger than just the mouse not working however and seems to be tied only to machines running non-US versions of Windows. If you are running a non-US version of Windows you will also notice that the music and sfx are not playing. I am currently working on a more permanent solution that will fix this conflict. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Sorry for the delay on this fix. We are still working on trying to fix this and are hoping to have this fixed up soon.

Hey, so we have looked into the mouse not working and found a possible cause. I can't guarantee that it will fix your problem because we are unable to duplicate the issue. But we are going to fix the possible cause we found and hopefully have it patched at the beginning of next week. And then hopefully everything will work for you.

Thanks grouchbag! You can zoom the camera in and out by using the mouse wheel, or by pressing q or e on the keyboard.

Also if possible could you please email us two files to:
support [at] knightforged.com

The files we need are:
CEGUI.log
Cube27.log

These files contain information about your game as you boot it up. There is a chance it may show us an error that could narrow down our search.

Thanks for the info. This is a very strange issue. I have not heard of anyone else having it. We are going to start looking at the code and see if we can figure out what is causing this. It might take a little bit of time, but hopefully we can figure this out and get it fixed.

In the mean time, if you want to try, you could see if this problem continues in full screen. If you navigate to your installation directory there is a file called cube27.cfg. You can open this file in any text editor ( i.e. notepad ). Just change the line that says Full Screen=No to say Full Screen=Yes . This will allow the game to start up in full screen. If the mouse still does not work you will have to use Alt-F4 to close the program. The reason I suggest this is windows handles mouse placement slightly differently in full screen vs a windowed program.

I am sorry that you are having problems with this. Like I said I am going to see what I can find out and I will try and get back to you as soon as I can.

If I am understanding you correctly you can get to the main menu screen but the mouse does not work? There currently is no keyboard support on the main menu, all menu navigation is with the mouse. Is there a chance you could be a bit more specific as to what is not working with the mouse. Is there a cursor? Are you not able to click on any of the menu items?

Hmm that is odd. I just tried downloading the file from IndieDB and everything seems to be fine so I don't think it is the file. But there are a couple of other possible causes.

If you have any antivirus programs on I would temporarily disable them or add IndieDB to the exception list. I have only heard of Avast having issues with this game, but there may be other antivirus programs that don't like it.

You can also try downloading the file from our site directly. I don't know if that will fix the issue you are having but it may be worth a shot. Knightforged.com

HenryT77 I would go a head and try downloading the demo and give it a shot. The only reason we don't list XP under the OS is because everyone who tested the game during our beta was either on 7 or 8. It may run on XP but I cannot guarantee it. And as such I cannot say it "officially" runs on XP.
